Although Obi Mobile originates from India, the brand's co-founders include the company's former CEO Apple John Sculley, who decided that his devices would now dominate the market in the Middle East. Sculley is far from aiming to defeat Apple or gain market share by having Obi Mobile sell some of the greatest innovations in current technology, but quite the opposite. Obi Mobile is coming to the market with five phones: Octopus S520, Falcon S451, Hornbill S551, Wolverine S501, and Obi F240. However, Sculley believesthat it will take market share right now Applu and similar companies.

"We thought about how we could take Applu market share and the best way is to take away the market share that he is not interested in. There are a lot of young people who simply do not have the budget to buy a smartphoneone for a large sum,” Sculley said while explaining the company’s strategy. Sculley added that Steve Jobs about the new Obi phonesonech said: "A typical Steve would say, you're capable of so much more." Still, Sculley believes he can gain share in a market where nearly half a million phones are sold every month.

The flagship of Obi Mobile is the Octopus S520, which is powered by an octa-core processor at a frequency of 1,7Ghz, 1GB of RAM and 8GB of storage space. The phone has a dual SIM card slot and an 8 Mpix camera with a 5" display. The lowest of the line of phones is the 5″ Obi Falcon S541, which offers a 1,3Ghz Dual-core processor, 1GB of RAM and 4GB of memory with an 8Mpix camera that is rotatable and works both for capturing the user and for capturing classic photos.
