Advertising banners leaked online AmazonKindle Unlimited, which offers unlimited access to books, both classic digital books and audiobooks. A monthly fee of around 200 CZK will give you access to more than 600 books, with no need to pay for downloading individual books. Selected users are already testing this feature, which is essentially the world's first unlimited book subscription. The question remains, however, how many books per month users will be able to read and whether the service will be worth it. Book prices are usually lower than $000, so if you read one book each month, it will be cheaper to buy the book than to pay the monthly fee.
On the other hand Amazon Kindle Unlimited also guarantees access to audiobooks, thanks to which you have the opportunity to listenchat books, for example, while driving in the car. Amazon is currently testing the new service and it is not clear whether it will actually launch it, but it would represent further competition for iBooks as well as a reduction in profits for book authors, who would again see a smaller amount from subscriptions than if they purchased a classic book. Prothe overall book market would also fall, affecting prices and perhaps the number of authors.
This would be great if it also works in the Czech Republic. I would like the same service for movies and music. The price of CDs, movies and e-books in our country seems really senseless, but let's pay about 200 CZK per month for unlimited access to books, another 200 for access to music and another 200 for access to movies and series - I wouldn't have a problem with that problem.
But I somehow don't understand why the book market should collapse like this - classic books will still be sold and I believe that this service will ultimately bring much greater profits. ProEven authors could earn more from it.
