The speculation turned out to be true this time too and Apple na WWDC actually introduced the app Healthbook, or shortened its name to Health. The new app actually works as a hub for all the user's health information that has been collected from all the health apps that the user has installed on their device. Well, along with the application Health also introduced the platform HealthKit, which almost immediately caused the media to become interested in the attitude of the developers of one of the most famous health applications in the App Store.
It looks amazing, doesn't it Apple wants with the help of the platform HealthKit to enter a completely new business, as he plans to start selling various medical accessories in his stores, which include, for example, pressure gauges. However, all products must meet one fundamental condition, namely that they must be compatible with the operating system iOS. One of the first companies to start selling their accessories through stores Apple Store, are the companies Withings and iHealth. In addition to these, however, there are also software manufacturers, which include RunKeeper and Strava.
All four companies have confirmed that they plan to use HealthKit and thus enter a new ecosystem which Apple presented at WWDC. RunKeeper CEO Jason Jacobs announced that the RunKeeper and Breeze apps will soon be supported HealthKit. At the same time, he is pleased that Apple has drawn several other key market players into this ecosystem, which of course means a plus in business. The advantage is that Apple made order in various medical facilities, so that from now on data will no longer be stored only in individual applications from individual developers, but will be stored in the application Health, which is a centralized point for all future physical activities.
Finally, the president also commented on itHealth, Adam Ling: "HealthWe can potentially consider the kit as a game-changing product and Apple is in just the right position. Apple it has the potential to become a hub for all health-related data, just as it has become the hub of the digital music market in the past. Moreover, if we take into account iCloud, then it's not unrealistic at all. In addition to adding value to users, this represents a huge change for healthcare providers, a move forward from the current state of being a highly fragmented EMR market. I think that one day we will remember this day as a pivotal day in the transformation of healthcare.”
