Supplier of LTE chips for many mobile devices, including those from the company Apple, the Qualcomm company, today issued a press release in which it officially announced the creation of a new communication chip with support for 4G LTE networks, which combines all solutions to date into a single one. We expect that he will use this chip in his future products as well Apple, specifically in the next generation of the phone iPhone, as well as in cellular versions of the future iPad mini and the fifth generation iPad. At the same time, however, it is possible that Apple it will bring this new chip to current devices in the form of a silent update.

The new processor is called Qualcomm RF360 and thanks to the fact that it combines all the chips used so far into one, it improves the quality of the mobile signal, reduces energy consumption and at the same time saves costs for mobile phone manufacturers, who will thus be able to produce only one revision of their phone instead of three or more. This is exactly the case Applu, whose latest iPhone 5 is available in three versions:

  • A1428 – GSM model with support for LTE bands 4 and 17
  • A1429 – GSM model with support for LTE bands 1, 3 and 5
  • A1429 – CDMA model with support for LTE bands 1, 3, 5, 13 and 25

Qualcomm RF360 is primarily intended for manufacturers whose mobile devices support LTE-FDD, LTE-TDD, WCDMA, EV-DO, CDMA 1x, TD-SCDMA and GSM/EDGE.
