Only two things will make you take off your Breitlings, airport security and the Nike+ SportBand. The first thing that comes to mind when I read articles, especially reviews or advice, is what the hell does the guy who writes it know about it. The guy who writes the following lines has run over 1000km with Nike+, in rain, snow, hot sun, at -18 degrees, as well as at +40 degrees. He has tried Nike+ and iPod, Nike+ SportBand, Nike+ Armband and nakonec was the first in the country to test Nike+ Wearlink. Thanks to the sport I do, I tested both long runs and short sprints, as well as playing. Come take a look at the test that cost me 92 calories, a few liters of blood and a million liters of sweat! In the first of a series of articles about Nike+ technology, we will take a look at the Nike+ SportBand review!
Packing
The package includes not only the bracelet, but also the chip that you need for measurement. The instructions are brief as always, and so that no one can complain about the lack of Czech, all support is limited to pictures only. Just attach the sensor to your shoes or into shoes that support Nike+ technology and you can start measuring. Don't forget to turn on the chip by pressing its single button for 3 seconds. On the nikeplus.com/downloads website , you can download software for PC or Mac, thanks to which you can synchronize data and transfer it to your computer and then to nikeplus.com. So you don't need iTunes, which is the main change in the synchronization method compared to Nike+ iPod. The program itself cannot display data, but only synchronizes the bracelet with your computer and then with nikeplus.com. However, you can set what parameters you want to be displayed on the bracelet, how much you weigh, what the current time is, or, for example, upgrade the bracelet's firmware. The interface is very nice and basically, after the first setup, you will only use it because of the nikeplus.com button. You can also see the charging progress of the bracelet here.
Bracelet
The bracelet itself is only slightly wider and thicker than the classic Nike bracelet, which you probably know from the L campaign.ance Armstrong – Livestrong, to support the fight against cancer. The bracelet is adjustable and should fit every hand, which I seriously have no idea what the author meant. I have a very thin hand around the wrist and the largest size is tight on me. The bracelet does not fall off my hand even when playing basketball, so logically neither when running :-). It is made entirely of rubber and should not cause an allergic reaction in any case. I personally tested it in temperatures around 30 degrees Celsius, it withstood both sunlight and sweat. Of course it can withstand sweat, you can even swim with it, the bracelet is waterproof! The display is not illuminated, but it is beautifully readable in direct sunlight. Unfortunately, you will not be able to see the data at night, but do you go running in the dark? Thanks to the Time (watch) function, it is not a problem to wear the bracelet like a classic sports watch, which is very elegant due to its size. The sensor can be removed from the bracelet without having to take it off. However, the main element of the Nike+ SportBand and its bracelet is a display with a USB output, which is its own sensor. It is important to note here that you can synchronize it with multiple sensors at once. If you go running with your partner, for example, you only need one bracelet and both of your data will be synchronized with it. Unfortunately, the bracelet cannot serve only as an information element. I will explain it to you simply, in short, in the winter when I run in -18 degrees I want to listenchat music from my iPod, to which the data is also sent from the sensor, but I keep it in my jacket pocket, usually in my back pocket. Moreover, with gloves on, I prefer to wait until I get home before I open the pocket and look at the display. So I wanted to have the bracelet only as a display on which the data is displayed, but that is not possible.
Sensor
The Nike+ sensor is completely waterproof and has a battery that cannot be replaced. Of course, you can replace it and save 700 CZK for a new sensor. Just cut off both "halves" of the sensor and replace the battery, then "fill" it with siliconeonema you continue to function. The sensor measures adequately for its price. If you run up a 500-meter hill, you will find that you have run 540 meters, if you run down it, you have run just 470 meters. However, the Nike+ SportBand is not a professional tool for measuring your professional runs, but an accessory that you will not take off your hands. I ran more than 800 kilometers with the sensor in -18 degrees (Kvilda 2009), as well as in +35 degrees. You simply do not need to worry about the sensor, there is no way to destroy it (during normal use, even in extreme conditions).
Quality
The bracelet itself is made very well and everything holds as it should and is tight. The part with the display is plastic and rubberized, but the display itself is just plain plastic. Of course, when you put your diamond Breitlings in the safe, you know that you can bump into anything with their sapphire glass (except the diamond) and nothing will happen to it. nestno. The Nike+ SportBand is of course not like this, a light scratch is enough and the display will crack. However, this is something that has been bothering all sports watches from Nike for many years. On the other hand, we cannot compare a watch worth hundreds of thousands of crowns with a toy for 1700 CZK. In terms of quality, I have only one complaint, the advertised display. Important notice! Check what generation of the bracelet you have, the first generation is not waterproof, not even when showering, but the second generation is fully waterproof when swimming and showering! However, always be careful not to get water on the USB when connecting to a computer!
Charging
Charging is via USB and can be charged from 0% to 100% 2 hours of connection to the computer is enough. The bracelet can record data for 14 hours at a time, and you can see the battery status on the display. Once the LOW message appears on the display, you have 1 hour of data recording. However, if you use the bracelet only as a watch, there is no problem for it to last for several days without charging. The advantage is that you can rely on the given 14 hours and then 1 hour after the LOW message. Unlike the iPod, the music volume, display backlight and other details do not play a role here. Personally, I cannot imagine training more than 8 hours a day, most people manage around 5 hours a day, so if you are going for the weekend, there is no need to take a computer.

Nike+ SportBand or Nike+iPod
It is entirely up to you which system you choose. If you know that you will be listening while runningchat music and you don't mind having an iPod in your pocket or on your hand, no problem. If you want to measure everything without having headphones in your ears, definitely choose the Nike+ SportBand. On the other hand, if you don't care about anything, there is one more thing. The data on the iPod is paradoxically harder to read when running than the data on the bracelet. You don't have to worry about anything, the bracelet provides you with the same as the iPod, all functions (except for powersong) are available in both the Nike+ SportBand and the Nike+ iPod. The huge advantage of the bracelet is that if you wear shoes with a sensor for normal walking and not just for running, you can wear the bracelet all the time, just like a watch, and you can measure something whenever you decide. The bracelet doesn't get in the way and you have it on your bare body, you don't need a pocket. You are walking with your dog and suddenly want to know how far you are from home, you measure it. Want to know how many kilometers you walked with your girlfriend while shopping? Measure it! A bracelet gives you more freedom than an iPod, and it's cool!
