Servers 9to5mac.com , macrumors.com and tuaw report a shortage of Time Capsule, AirPort Extreme and AirPort Express. Server macrumors says they have already received several reports of shortages of this product in stores Applu from various locations in the United States. In some locations, these products are reportedly sold out completely. Other servers have the same information. Store representatives have reportedly indicated that they are not expecting any replenishment of stock in warehouses at the moment. All of the above servers agreed that we will probably see an update of these devices at the upcoming conference WWDC 2011.
Server & Hosting 9to5mac further asserts that Apple is testing new Time Capsule models that should cache software updates for both Mac and Windows iOS device. According to the information 9to5mac Time Capsule should be able to use Wi-Fi to detect which devices are connected to it and then download from servers Applu software update. If the user decides to install the update on the Time Capsule, which also functions as a router, it will redirect the user to a local drive where the update has already been downloaded. 9to5mac further speculates on the newly opened possibilities of combining the updated Time Capsule with the i serviceCloudIt's also possible that in the future, Time Capsule could cache your most-played music streamed from your iCloud libraries, for faster access. It could also cache the most frequently used documents, images, and movies. While Apple computers have lots of disk space, this solution could be beneficial for iOS devices that are usually limited by small flash memory.
So now we just have to hope that with the new generation AirPorts will also arrive. AirPort utility for iOS.
And the TimeCapsule will come with 1024 GB of SSD memory, that would be awesome....
2Davidson: What good would it do?
Speed Ondřej speed !!!! :)
I can only ask what the advantages are of that one. AirPort compared to a normal wi-fi router. And what is the difference between a time capsule and a normal NAS? :)
PS: I don't follow these things much…
2Davidson: Well, assuming you have an SSD in your computer and connected to the Time Capsule via Thunderbolt. Otherwise, just having an SSD and a Gb connection, you won't use it anyway, it will just be hellishly expensive. But still... having something to back up on an unreliable SSD... I wouldn't really go for it.
didn't you also think about the article dealing with the harmfulness of electronics to humans?
is it harmful isn't it bad? is it individual? is it unhealthy to have, for example, Express connected 3m from the bed 24/7?
I would be interested in this :) thanks
