Shopping lists are one of the things that almost everyone has on their phone these days. And although at first glance it may seem that there is nothing to improve on them, the opposite is true. Now you can see for yourself thanks to a new app SuperPlan, which is backed by the creators of the popular loyalty card app SuperCards. They came up with a solution that takes the classic shopping list to a completely different level. In addition to the ability to share it with other household members, it can recognize dictated items thanks to artificial intelligence, convert photos of handwritten lists into digital form, or create shopping lists from recipes on Instagram or TikTok. And perhaps best of all, the application is available for free, supports Czech, and requires no registration.
The SuperPlan app is developed by a Berlin-based development team with extensive experience in similar projects. Its members previously worked on the popular Sto app.card, which has gained over 50 million users and is now behind the Super appCards, which is used by around four million people. However, the new SuperPlan, which was released on October 7th of this year, focuses on a slightly different area, namely planning shopping and cooking.
A shopping list that you just tell what you need
One of the most interesting features of SuperPlan is undoubtedly the way in which you can add individual items to your shopping list. While in classic applications you usually have to write everything down manually, here you can simply dictate the list. The application uses its own voice artificial intelligence, which was developed specifically for shopping purposes and which can handle not only the names of individual products, but also their quantities or corrections during dictation. For example, if you say "five apples, no, actually six, and milk", the application will automatically understand that you should add six apples and milk to the list. What is also very nice is that it can easily handle Czech, which, for example, Siri od Applu still doesn't support it.
But the possibilities for adding items don't end there. SuperPlan can also recognize handwritten shopping lists, which you can simply take a picture of with your phone's camera. It can also handle shopping requests sent via WhatsApp, even in the case of voice messages. You just need to share them with the application and it will take care of converting them into a clear list. In addition, it automatically sorts individual items into categories according to which department of the supermarket you usually find them in. Thanks to this, you do not have to constantly jump between individual parts of the list when shopping, but can proceed according to the distribution of goods in the store.
Another great advantage is the ability to share your shopping list with other household members. To do this, simply send a link, QR code or invitation via WhatsAppu, while all invitees subsequently see the same list and can add additional items to it or check off already purchased goods. All changes are synchronized almost immediately, so for example, in a situation where one household member goes shopping and the other remembers something else at home, there is no need to solve anything complicated. You will also be pleased with the ability to use the list offline or smart suggestions of frequently purchased products, which can speed up its creation even more.
From Instagram straight to your shopping cart
However, SuperPlan is not just an ordinary shopping list. Its second essential component is a digital cookbook that can collect recipes from various sources. If you come across an interesting recipe on Instagram, TikTok, YouTube or Pinterest, for example, you don't have to bookmark it or complicatedly rewrite individual ingredients. Just share the post to SuperPlan, which can get the necessary ingredients and the preparation process itself. You can also work with recipes from websites in the same way, Facebookor classic paper cookbooks. For those, you just need to take a picture of the relevant page, and according to the developers, the application can even handle handwritten recipes or older yellowed pages.
You can then save the recipes you have obtained in this way to your own digital cookbook, sort them into collections and share them with other family members. The application can also assign a picture to them and prepare a detailed procedure including timers. However, the most interesting thing is the connection of recipes with a shopping list. If you decide to prepare one of the saved dishes, you just need to select the required number of servings and SuperPlan will automatically calculate the amount of individual ingredients, which you can then add to the shopping list with a single click. In addition, if you plan to prepare multiple dishes, the application can combine the same ingredients from different recipes into one item. It then separates the basic ingredients that you probably have at home into a separate group, so you don't have to buy salt or other common ingredients unnecessarily.
As for availability, you can download SuperPlan completely free of charge at iPhone and Android phones. You can create, share and synchronize shopping lists for free without any restrictions, and the application does not contain ads and does not require a user account to use it. The only limitation concerns the functions that use artificial intelligence, which are subject to a weekly limit. This can be removed through a Premium subscription. So if you are tired of classic shopping lists or are looking for a way to simplify meal planning and subsequent shopping, SuperPlan is definitely worth trying. MiniThe combination of Czech voice control, shared lists and automatic recipe processing seems very interesting.
