Apple with support for the Qi2.2 standard on iPhones 16 and 17, it opened the door for accessory manufacturers to offer magnetic chargers with virtually the same capabilities as the original MagSafe. While just a few years ago it was maximal charging speed reserved for almost original products AppWell, that's not the case anymore. The proof is the new FIXED MagPad Slim Qi2 25W wireless charger, which promises charging power of up to 25 W thanks to support for the latest Qi2.2 standard and, above all, a price that is significantly more favorable than the original MagSafe from Applu. How is it doing in practice? I will try to answer this question in the following lines.

Technical Specifications

FIXED MagPad Slim Qi2 25W features a simple and elegant design. The charging surface is made of aluminum, which helps with heat dissipation, while the contact part itself is coated with a fine silicone.onem protecting the back of the phone from scratches. The entire body measures 59 × 59 × 8,2 mm and weighs 77 grams.

Inside is support for the latest Qi2.2 standard using Magnetic Power technology Protocol (MPP), thanks to which the phone is always precisely centered using magnets and charges maxat the maximum possible speed. The charger is compatible with iPhones from the 12 series and above and of course also with devices supporting Qi2.2, while there is also backward compatibility with the older Qi2 and Qi1 standards. However, I must emphasize that with maximal charging performanceonem only supports iPhones 16 and 17, the rest will charge at a lower speed.

MaxThe minimum charging power is 25 W, and to achieve it, the manufacturer recommends using at least a 30W USB-C Power Delivery adapter. The charging "puck" is attached to a high-quality 1,5-meter-long USB-C cable with a textile braid, which feels very durable and at the same time offers a pleasantly long range, for example from a socket to a bedside table or desk. The ecological side of the product will also please. More than half of the materials used come from recycled sources.

Testing

FIXED I used the MagPad Slim as my main charger for a few days iPhone and after the first few hours it was clear that the manufacturer knew exactly what he wanted to create. The whole product looks very high quality and definitely does not resemble a cheap one. magnetic chargers, of which there are countless on the market today.

The strength of the magnets is very pleasantly surprising. The phone attaches to the charger immediately, centers itself precisely and holds really firmly. I had no problems iPhone I can safely pick it up or use it with one hand while charging. I also appreciate that the design does not cover the camera area, so the phone lies stable on the table and does not wobble.

The main attraction is of course the charging speed, and this is where the FIXED MagPad Slim shows its greatest advantage. When used with a sufficiently powerful USB-C adapter, it charges just as fast as the original. Apple MagSafe with 25W charging support. In practice, I really didn't notice any difference between the two chargers. So if you're looking for an alternative that offers the same performance, here you get it without any major compromises.

The 1,5-meter cable also deserves great praise. It may seem like a small thing, but in everyday use it is a very nice bonus. Apple because at the cheaper varianty only bets on a meter-long cable for its MagSafe and charges even more for the version with a two-meter cable. Specifically, we are talking about 1290 CZK for a meter-long variantu and 1490 CZK for a two-meter cable, which is much more than what FIXED charges. The latter has a charger priced at 799 CZK. In my opinion, the 1,5-meter length is an ideal compromise that is completely sufficient in most situations.

As for testing, I didn't experience any charging failures or overheating issues during it. The aluminum body dissipates heat very well and the charger only remains slightly warm even during prolonged charging.

If I had to find any criticism, it would be about the design itself. Although the name Slim suggests a very thin design, in addition to the original Apple MagSafe, the difference is quite significant. The FIXED MagPad Slim is about twice as thick, which is noticeable at first glance when placed side by side. In normal use, this does not pose any problem, but if you are used to the extremely thin original solution from Applu, you will definitely notice this feature. On the other hand, it should be added that this is practically the only significant compromise that I found during testing.

Summary

I was very pleasantly surprised by the FIXED MagPad Slim Qi2 25W. It offers exactly what I expect from a modern magnetic charger – quality workmanship, strong magnets, reliable operation and, above all, charging performance comparable to the original. Apple MagSafe.

The price comparison is all the more interesting. The FIXED MagPad Slim costs 799 CZK, while the original Apple MagSafe with a meter cable costs approximately 1,290 CZK and varianta with a two-meter cable even for 1,490 CZK. In practice, you will practically not notice the difference of several hundred crowns, unless we are talking about the thickness of the charger. The charging speed is the same, the magnetic attachment works great and the longer 1,5-meter cable is even more practical in my opinion than the meter cable of the cheaper original.

Yes, the original MagSafe is still noticeably thinner and a bit more elegant in design. But if price-performance ratio is most important to you, the FIXED MagPad Slim currently offers one of the most interesting options on the market. Personally, I would have no problem replacing the original MagSafe with this charger after a few days of use. For the price of 799 CZK, it offers really excellent value.
