With newer versions iOS he added Apple into the ecosystem Apple Music An interesting little feature that is not very visible at first glance, but in practice can be surprisingly useful. It's called Ambient Music and it's quick access to music playlists designed for relaxation, concentration or falling asleep.

Unlike classic browsing Apple Music you can access this music directly from Control center, that is, from a place where most people go more for the brightness of the display, Wi-Fi or quick camera launch. Apple but it also now offers a button that immediately starts the music background according to your mood or situation.

How Ambient Music works

The principle is simple. After adding a control to the Control Center, you can launch one of the prepared playlists with a single tap. Apple currently offers four main modes:

  • Sleep
  • Relaxing music
  • Productility
  • Feeling of well-being

The music is played through the standard system player, so it works just like a regular song from Apple MusicFor example, you can send it via AirPlay to the speaker or notchat Play while working in the background.

Interestingly, Ambient Music is not a separate application or a new section in Apple Music. Apple he sees it more as a quick system tool – similar to, for example, recognizing music using Shazam.

How to add ambient music to Control Center

If you want to use it, just follow a few steps:

  • Open the Control Center.
  • Tap + in the top left corner to edit.
  • At the bottom, select Add control.
  • Find the Ambient Music section.
  • Select the desired varianty (Sleep, Rest, Productivity or Feeling of well-being).

Then the new button will appear directly among the other controls.

Music as a backdrop for work and relaxation

Ambient music is nothing new in the music world. Similar playlists have been around for years and are used by people to study, meditate, or even read in the evening. Apple but he took an interesting approach – instead of another tab in the application, he created a quick system switcher.
