Today is not only the 50th anniversary of the founding Applu, but also the start of sales of a new generation of its most expensive headphones. Specifically, we are talking about the recently introduced AirPods Max 2, which arrived a few hours ago for me to try out. However, before I can properly "touch" them, or rather test them as best I can by listening to music, ANC and so on, it's time to unpack them together with you and tell us how this new feature affects an elderly user of classic AirPods after one afternoon together.
That Apple u AirPods Max 2 We've known since their introduction that they didn't experiment, given that they don't differ in design or even color from the previous generation. We (unexpectedly) didn't experiment with the packaging either, so the headphones will arrive in a classic white paper box with a colorful logo on the lid. variainside, there are inscriptions on the sides AirPods Max or logos Applu. The bottom is reserved for certification marks, technical specifications and so on. In general, however, I must say that overall the packaging looks quite luxurious and gives a completely different feeling than, for example, the packaging AirPods, iPads or iPhones. The magic of "premium" is undeniable here.
If you are interested in the contents of the package, in addition to the headphones themselves with a case, you will find a folder with a manual and a USB-C/USB-C cable, which, in addition to charging, is also used for listening to lossless audio.

And how do these headphones feel in your hand and on your ears? Honestly, they feel great in your hand. The combination of metal ear cups, a knitted headband and soft ear cups is really pleasing to the eye and feels really premium. Once you put these headphones on and play with the extendable arms to fit your head as best as possible, they feel like cotton wool around your ears. Unfortunately, the main drawback of the previous generation in the form of higher weight is here Apple I haven't solved it, so after a while the weight on my head is quite noticeable. So I'm quite curious to see how quickly I'll get used to everything.
There is of course still time to evaluate the audio component and the quality as well. ANC, but after the first few hours I have to say that I am really impressed with both. Compared to the first generation, which I was able to try out earlier, the sound is a bit livelier, more faithful and somehow "tastier". As for ANC, it locks you into your own world really nicely. Sudden loud noises do penetrate, but long-lasting noises like a washing machine are isolated excellently.

Overall, I would like to say that both the sound and the ANC u AirPods Max 2 one has a very different feeling than in the case of AirPods Pro 3. And I don't mean quality, but rather a kind of difference. Just as these headphones are different in type, the sound from them, and therefore their ANC one perceives, which I find really interesting after the first few hours.
Bottom line, all in all – so far I don’t AirPods Max 2 I really like it and although they Apple actually, he didn't experiment at all, but instead went the way of a slight upgrade of the previous generation, and in the end, this strategy makes a lot of sense. Even in 2026, thanks to the "new insides", the headphones, whose design we've known since winter 2020, will still be interesting. And I'm already really looking forward to how I'll fully enjoy the next few days with them - whether surrounded by music or, conversely, surrounded by silence.
