Vivo launched its new V50 series products at the end of February. The Vivo V50 model will impress at first glance with its design and unusual photo module, but after a longer examination you will find that its lines are strikingly similar to the iPhones X to 11, thanks to the rounded edges. And it's a very nice reminder, even if everything is different inside.
Vivo's V-series models are often recommended for their all-round experience, but they still offer very good photo and video quality for their price range. They also stick to more or less the same recipe every year, with only minor improvements. Last year, for example, the V40 series models received water resistance and stereo speakers.
Now we have IP69, which protects the phone even against splashes of water, but above all an improved design with a larger Aura, i.e. an illuminating LED, an updated 50MPx main camera with a better OV50e sensor and Zeiss optics for all cameras. And now there is an even larger 6 mAh battery with faster charging with performanceonem 90 W.

High-brightness display
The Vivo V50 has a 6,77" AMOLED display with a resolution of 1080p, which is an "interesting" downgrade compared to the 6,78" AMOLED display with a resolution of 1260p on previous models. However, this year we got a new protective glass Dimond Shield Glass (in collaboration with Schott), which should be up to 50% more resistant to drops compared to the first Schott glass on the V40 models.
But it looks great, considering the design and quality of the display, which of course has a 120Hz refresh rate (you can switch to 60Hz). The brightness in HBM climbs to 1,300 nits, but at peak it can reach up to 4,500 nits . The phone has good color saturation and contrast levels and offers decent customization options when it comes to colors in general. Perhaps the only shame is the overly glossy surface of the phone, which may not be to everyone's liking. But it almost does not catch fingerprints.

Performance with warning
Live V50 It runs, like the V40 and V30, on the Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 chip and its memory options reach maxminimum 12 GB RAM + 512 GB, again the same as in older models. I would like to see e.g. Snapdragon 7s Gen 3, or at least some innovation, although the device is still good for the mid-range, it does not have enough performance to play demanding games at high settings.
But there is no overheating or any lag. In fact, even The environment runs very fast and without lags. The device runs Android 15 out of the box with Funtouch OS 15 on top. The interface is smooth, offers extensive customization options, and I didn't notice any issues with notifications or aggressive memory management. The only thing worth mentioning in this regard is that the V50 will only receive three Android updates - one less than its immediate competitors in the Android world, three less than, for example, such Samsung Galaxy A56.
With a signature from ZEISS
As Vivo continues its semi-annual cadence of new phone releases, the V50's cameras aren't all that different from its predecessor. It has two 50MP lenses on the back , and while the main camera uses a slightly larger module, you won't really notice much of a difference in quality here, except in low-light conditions. The phone still does a great job with portrait shots, and it's still one of the best mid-range phones in this area.
It is very pleasing to take pictures at 2x zoom and the level of detail in macro photography is surprising . By the way, in the camera interface you can also take pictures in Super macro mode. In any case, be prepared for the fact that your results will be really saturated, the sky may be unnaturally blue and at 1x zoom I often noticed overexposure.
Long-lasting battery
It's a holder. Vivo V50 has a much larger battery, which has a capacity of 6 mAh and is a silicon-carbon battery. The phone can easily last a day and a half on a single charge, even with intensive use. The charging itself is also impressive. With 000W USB PD, it takes less than 90 minutes to charge the device to full battery capacity. Here, big brands like Samsung and Apple they have something to teach. Personally, I don't know what they're still afraid of when it works for the competition, and it works very well.
Overall, the Vivo V50 doesn't bring much new, but that's okay. Vivo didn't have to change its successful foundations, and by adding a larger battery and refreshing the design, the brand has delivered a device that is slightly better than its predecessor, but it won't be a deal-breaker for owners of the previous generation. If you need a mid-range phone with a focus on the camera and a stylish design, The Vivo V50 is actually a great choice that basically costs a lot less than such a iPhone 16e, which can actually only score points here in performance. The price of the Vivo V50 in the 12GB/512GB configuration is CZK 13 and the package includes not only a silicone case but also a protective film applied to the display.
Vivo 50, I personally tried it, ordinary display, foggy, low brightness, photos are not of good quality at all, I tried three at once side by side, pixel 9a, vivo 50, Xiaomi 14t pro.. display best pixel 9a, second Xiaomi and vivo at all a hundred years behind, photos best pixel 9a and Xiaomi 14t pro.. personally I do not recommend it at all.. do not take vivo 50.
