Humanity may be one step closer to discovering life in space. Scientists from the US National Radio Astronomy Observatory have detected a coherent radio signal from an alien planet, indicating that it could be home to life, or miniIt's unlikely it could be habitable.

The signal that the scientists picked up is not artificially created by something alive, but is "just" the interaction of the star with the planet's magnetic field. According to scientists, the magnetic field is the key to life on the given planet, as it is a shield against high-energy particles and plasma that are fired by stars, including the Sun. It is from this that scientists conclude that in order for life to exist on any planet, it needs a similar type of protection, which is now fulfilled. As for other details regarding the planet from which the signal arrived, it should be YZ Cetib. It should be roughly 12 light-years away from Earth and should be mainly made of rocks. So the planet will be included in the list of potentially habitable, and as humanity improves in space exploration, it is possible that it will begin to explore it in more detail in the future.
