The Russians are likely to stay on the International Space Station for a few more years. After the Russian state space agency Roscosmos announced that it plans to leave the International Space Station after 2024, NASA announced that the Russians intend to stay in the program until at least 2028. But it cannot be said that he was not telling the truth. The Russians will indeed leave the ISS after 2024. It will just be longer than originally expected.
