It wasn't that long ago that we informed you that it had started Apple apparently, in cooperation with selected developers, test the new possibility of managing the amount of the subscription. While up to now the subscription price increase had to be approved manually, otherwise it was cancelled, the new version provided for an automatic price increase. Although this information was met with a number of contradictory reactions, Apple decided for established news after all. A few hours ago, he informed the developers on his developer portal that he will deploy the new feature soon.

To prevent Apple possible subscription fraud by developers, which was logically the most risky factor, he decided to set up maxminimum limits for increases – both monthly and annual. Automatic increases will be possible maxat least once a year, with the exception that in the event of an increase in the monthly subscription fee, it may be raised maxat least $5 and at the same time maxat least 50% of the price, in the case of an annual subscription it is 50 dollars and at the same time maxat least 50% of the price. In addition, the application will inform you about the subscription increase via notifications App Store and so on, so that people are familiar with them. As a result, it should not happen that the new feature is overlooked and the subscription is therefore taken up without the user's knowledge.

However, with regard to the information system for the upcoming subscription increase, once the increase occurs, the user will no longer be able to refuse it within the system notification window, which is de facto the last element informing about this step, but will then have to manually cancel it via the classic subscription management in App Store or settings. On the one hand, this makes it easier for developers to increase subscriptions, but on the other hand, it is a minor complication for users.
