How much is the subscription?
As is customary in the Czech Republic, we always ask for everything, how much does it cost – and of course, it’s no different when it comes to streaming services. As for Netflix, a subscription will cost you miniat least 199 crowns. You probably expect Prime Video from Amazonu will cost the same amount – however, the opposite is true. Typically, a monthly Prime Video subscription costs 159 crowns per month, however, it currently has Amazon a special promotion where you can get a subscription for 79 CZK per month. In addition to all this, you can try Prime Video completely free for 7 days - all you need to do is add a credit card. But you can remove it immediately so that the amount is not deducted in a week if you don't like Prime Video.
Profiles are a matter of course and using the account
Like Netflix, Prime Video also has user profiles. This is handy if you share your account with family or friends. With profiles, each individual can get their own recommendations based on what they watch. So if you like action and sci-fi movies, nestYou'd think that you'd be recommended novels that your significant other is watching. Up to six users can use one account on Prime Video. If six people actually used one account, each person would pay just 13 crowns for a month of subscription, which is completely unbeatable.
Where can Prime Video be used?
The good news is that you can access Prime Video from anywhere. As for mobile devices, the app is available on Android and iOS, you can then run it in a web browser on your PC or Mac. In addition to these "classic" devices, you can also run Prime Video on popular consoles (such as PlayStation 4 and 5 or Xbox Series X and S), select TVs from Samsung, LG and Panasonic, and more. Apple TV.

In order to even consider subscribing to a streaming service, it is necessary that the content you are interested in is available on it. So if your favorite shows are available on another streaming service, it is probably unnecessary for you to get Prime Video. In any case, the offer of films and series on Amazon Prime is really varied - specifically, you can watch almost 700 different titles here. The most famous titles include, for example, the Transformers series, Indiana Jones, and The Last Jedi.ones, Mission: Impossible, Forrest Gump, Mamma mia!, Shrek or the famous car series The Grand Tour, a new form of Top Gear on Amazonu. Complete list of available programs on Amazon You can watch Prime Video here – there is definitely a lot to choose from and the individual titles are very well known.

There is one catch, however – most of the titles are only available in English, without the option of subtitles. If you would like to watch some films or series with Czech dubbing or Czech subtitles, you will have to choose very carefully. Currently, there are about 20 shows available with Czech dubbing, and almost a hundred with Czech subtitles. The application interface itself is also in English, but I believe that most users will not have any problems using it. The good news is that Amazon is constantly trying to expand its Prime Video service with additional titles, including in the Czech language. Soon, this service could fully compete with, for example, Netflix or HBO GO in the Czech Republic. The Czechization of the Prime Video interface should take place this year.

Playback and quality
Amazon Prime Video has only one subscription "level". Within this subscription, up to six individuals can use one account, and the programs are then played in 4K (UHD) quality. If we compare Prime Video with Netflix again in this case, Netflix has a total of three subscription levels, each of which has a limited number of users and quality. If you choose the Basic subscription for 199 CZK, you will get content in SD quality and the account can be used on a single device at the same time. The Standard subscription, in which you get the ability to use it on two devices at the same time and Full HD quality, costs 259 CZK per month. The top Premium level offers playback in 4K and the ability to use it on up to four devices at the same time. When playing on Prime Video, you can also create a "party" in which you can watch programs together with other users.
záver
Amazon in the Czech Republic, they are betting primarily on the fact that it is a newcomer to the market, but it is definitely starting to pull out all the stops and is gradually flooding even established streaming services. As compensation for the fact that not many titles are currently available in Czech (or at least with subtitles), Prime Video offers an unbeatable subscription price - it currently comes to 79 crowns, this price will be valid for new users until the end of June. But definitely do not take this as meaning that the Prime Video service is not important for the Czech Republic. Even if you only have to watch a fraction of some of the programs in Czech, the price of a monthly subscription is really great, and there is also a one-week trial period available. Pro comparison, Netflix will cost you miniat least 199 crowns (up to 319 crowns), HBO GO currently costs 159 crowns (with the arrival of HBO MAX will be more expensive).
