Yesterday, the European Vega rocket launched into space, carrying two satellites into orbit. The launch took place at exactly 2:52 CET in FrancFrench Guiana. However, the rocket broke up in the atmosphere 8 minutes after launch, probably due to a manufacturing defect. The fragments then crashed into the Atlantic Ocean. Of course, both satellites were destroyed. The European Space Agency and Arianespace have agreed to form an investigation committee to determine the exact reasons for the failure.
