I've been crazy about the new iPhone since day one. Try putting iPhone 12mini into any case and put glass or foil on the display. ProThe problem is probably that the capacitive layer of the display is not able to close the circuit and therefore the sensors are not able to record it. Simple test. Wet your thumb and test the display again. It will work 99% of the time. Another option is to control the phone with your index finger, which has the same resistance, but on a smaller area it should also work.
