The arrival of the iPhone 9, which is better known among users as the iPhone SE 2, is imminent. Apple should introduce it to the world in about a month at its first event this year Keynote. While most of its technical specifications have been known for a few weeks thanks to leaks, a few details are still shrouded in mystery. Among them is eSIM support, which would allow the iPhone 9 to use two phone numbers, as is now the case with all iPhones from the summer of 2018 and 2019. However, when it comes to iPhone If we look at 9 from the right perspective, we can also get a fairly simple answer to the question about eSIM.

iPhone 9 is referred to by many apple lovers as iPhone SE 2 because it is supposed to de facto copy the concept of the original iPhone SE. It was introduced in March 2016 as a phone with an old design and new hardware, which more or less coincided with the then flagships in the form of the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus. From them it took over both the A9 processor along with 2 GB of RAM, and the camera. With a bit of exaggeration, it could be said that it took over from its larger colleague iPhone SE everything important and differed from it more or less only in size, shape and lack of 3D Touch support. And since it is supposed to be in this regard iPhone 9 more or less the same, as it is supposed to take over from the new iPhones  the vast majority of their major hardware specs, it's more than likely they'll learn to work with eSIM as well.

eSIM support for the iPhone 9 is highly likely also due to the fact that one of the most important markets is for Apple the Chinese one in the long term. And that's what makes smartphones in general that support two SIMs in any form enjoy enormous popularity, apparently Apple years ago forced the implementation of this innovation in the iPhone XS and XR. So if the Californian giant had not pushed eSIM support into the iPhone 9, it would have closed its miniAt least in the Chinese market, and in many other markets, it would certainly reduce interest in its novelty.

The third reason why Apple The iPhone 9 will offer eSIM support, as part of Apple's effort to unify its phones as much as possible across its entire lineup. This trend began in 2018 and was continued last year with the iPhone 11 and 11 Pro. Pro It is also clear from the iPhone 9 renders that he intends to continue this this year, as miniAt least this model is supposed to get a back with the design offered by the iPhones 11 and 11 ProAnd since unification is not only in design, but also in function (a great example would be the killing of 3D Touch and its replacement Haptic Touch for last year's iPhones – editor's note.), it can be assumed that the new eSIM will not be forgotten.
