Apple has faced harsh criticism in recent months for neglecting professional users, as the vast majority of its products were aimed more at ordinary users. However, this changed dramatically at the end of last year, as we saw the introduction of the 16” MacBooku Pro and launch of Mac sales Pro a Pro Display XDR – products that are truly professional tools. And it seems, Apple It doesn't intend to let up on this just yet. The latest macOS Catalina 10.15.3 beta mentions a software improvement Pro A mode that is supposed to improve performance on Macs.

Beta that about Pro The mod is relatively unknown at the moment. All we know about it is that it will be possible to turn it on and off in the same way as Do Not Disturb mode, and it will also offer automatic activation or deactivation after a certain period of time. The new feature is described in the beta as enabling it, which means that applications can run faster, but battery life will be shorter and the fan noise may increase. It will therefore apparently be a temporary increase in the machine's performance, which Apple it achieves by ignoring some restrictions set in order to save energy - i.e. fan speed and the like.

The beta does not directly indicate that the new feature will only be available on MacBooks, but given that its description talks about shortening battery life, it is quite likely that it will indeed only be available on Apple laptops. Its availability should then be limited to machines with a new internal thermal design, which allows for a similar thing. It currently only offers 16” MacBook Pro, but it will very likely be joined by a 13” version soon. However, we will have to wait for further details about the new product.
