You may not know the name Michael Ellenberg. However, if you watch The Morning Show on Apple TV+, know that it is largely thanks to this man. Ellenberg is the executive producer of this series. And he is certainly not a newcomer, as until 2016 he worked at HBO on the series Dark Case, Westworld, and The Seven Mile High. After he left HBO, he launched his own company, Media Res, and was later contacted by directors Apple TV+ to jointly sign a contract for The Morning Show and other upcoming shows. And Michael Ellenberg was now interviewed by Variety magazine.

In the interview, Michael talked about a number of interesting things, such as his inspiration and the process of creating the series itself. "Until you just do it, it won't move. From renting a building, to providing the actors with a background, to a quality script, to collaborating with small businesses." Pro"The problem comes up every day and you're not prepared for any of it. But that's great because you learn new things every day," stated Ellenberg precisely in connection with the creation process.
Ellenberg was inspired by the Today show, which ran on NBC during his youth, for The Morning Show. He still remembers how an actress was fired from the show in 1990 after a long-running feud. Jane Pauley, which significantly reduced its quality. "When the show became terrible after she was fired, I was fascinated by how someone could turn something great into something so bad." he remembers. Paradoxically, he experienced the opposite with his The Morning Show, as the start of the series was rather tepid and only after its launch convinced many that it was indeed a very high-quality piece.
Faithful Applu
In 2016, after leaving HBO, Ellenberg was faced with an important decision about how to continue his career. However, he did not hesitate and founded his own film company, Media Res, which quickly became very successful, which de facto opened the door for him to collaborate with Applem. Over time, he began to meet with senior staff Apple TV+, Zack Van Amburg and Jamie Erlicht to sign him for his first series on the platform. And it should be noted that the first contract between him and Applem is a really good notch. Ellenberg currently works within Apple TV+ on two other series – specifically Pachinko, which tells the story of four generations of a Korean immigrant family, and an as-yet-untitled spy series starring Brie Larson. "Michael has the ability to tell good stories and can attract the attention of the greatest talents. He has understanding for all perspectives of actors, directors, and other people. This is a rare ability that has allowed him to perfectly launch his company Media Res." reported by Zack Van Amburg, managing director Apple TV+. Jennifer Aniston praises Ellenberg primarily for his energy and desire for perfection.
"and a currently untitled spy series starring Brio Larsonem” …. 🤭🤭🤭🤭
