Movie-themed titles are like saffron on the gaming scene, and even fewer on the mobile scene. However, a few years ago, specifically in 2015, the mysterious detective Her Story came out like a bolt from the blue, following the story of a witness to an unexplained murder. For its time, the game offered a rather unconventional gameplay, which consisted only of watching police records and videos. The player himself then had to decide who the murderer was, and even though the game time lasted only two hours, the story made you think about the case for many days after finishing the game.
The same creator who worked with Annapurna Interactive on Her Story has also taken on a loose sequel in a similar vein – the thriller Telling Lies. Once again, we can look forward to cinematic footage, a thrilling atmosphere and horror elements. It's no wonder, as both projects are being directed by veteran game designer and screenwriter Sam Barlow, who also worked on the Silent Hills series. What exactly his latest detective story will be about is still a mystery, but Sam has been quite forthcoming about the cast. Alexandra Shipp, Kerry Bishé, Angela Sarafyan and many other, albeit not very well-known, faces will appear in the footage. The gameplay will probably once again consist of browsing through footage and someoneserious considerations about what is true and what is false.
Exactly when Telling Lies will be released has been kept a tight secret by the developers until today, but the latest trailer revealed the date to be August 23rd. In addition, the upcoming release also signals the launch pre-orders on App Store, where you can buy the game for 179 crowns. If you prefer the PC version, the title will also be released on Steam and macOS. However, we recommend heading to the site only if you dare to embark on a journey into an uncertain, mysterious world woven from many human stories, where it will be up to you to uncover the truth. We'll see if theonec the creators manage to achieve the same successful, dense atmosphere as in the case of its spiritual predecessor.
