You may remember the huge uproar surrounding EA's latest Battle Royale game, Apex Legends. The game has been breaking records on Twitch for a while, gaining over 50 million active players and earning over a billion dollars in a short period of time. Since then, it has been relatively quiet on the footpath, and the first ranks have once again been occupied by the stalwarts Fortnite and PUBG, but that does not mean that the creators have given up on the game. On the contrary, they are still creating content and now it even looks like we will see a version for mobile devices.
As with the competing Fortnite, the developers have considered the possibility of a mobile port.oneFinally, PUBG is playing on the phoneonemore people than on consoles and computers, the number of players is in the hundreds of millions, so it is no wonder that studio Respawn has been working on this. Speculation about a mobile version was circulating back in May, and it wasn't long before we got an official confirmation from EA, but two months have passed since then and the developers have yet to show any progress. But don't worry, CEO Andrew Wilson has said that the port is still in the works, it's just not ready to see the light of day yet.
Remake the game so that it also runs on phonesonech sounds quite simple, but the biggest problem is the engine. For example, Fortnite and PUBG run on Unreal Engine 4, which has quite a bit of difficulty understanding the hardware of mobile devices, so the port took a little longer. Apex Legends is built on a modified Source engine, which was also used by Half-Life 2 at the time, and no one has tried to run the game on a phone yet, so development is more of a trial and error method. In any case, the main thing is that the game is still being worked on and we will see Apex Legends sometime in the coming months. The question remains, however, how the creators will adapt the controls, since they are quite complicated compared to the competition and the game offers significantly more abilities and options. But that is still the music of the future.
