In general, frequent use of smartphones and social media has a negative impact on teenagers. According to the latest report, teenagers between the ages of 13 and 17 prefer texting over face-to-face communication. The proportion of teenagers who prefer face-to-face contact has fallen from 49% (2012) to 32% (2018). A more popular way of communication is texting. What's even more interesting is that 33% of teens said they wish their parents spent less time on devices, up from 2012% in 21.
