Apple presented at this year's developer conference ARKit for augmented reality that only works on Apple devices with the system iOS 11. Apple released an update on iOS 11 on September 19, and since that date, applications supporting ARKit installed 3 times worldwide.

Approximately 35% of the available ARKit applications are games. However, we must point out that we are talking about ARKit applications that are based exclusively on new technologies ARKitu, not about applications that just added some ARKit functions. The second most popular category, representing 19% of the total ARKit applications are utilities. Another 11% are entertainment applications and 7% are educational applications.

The analytical company also published rankings of the best ARKit applications, among which are mainly games. Users liked AR Dragon, Zombie Gunship Revenant, The Machines and Monster Park – Dino World the most.

Games represent 53% of all downloads and 62% of total revenue from ARKit applications. In addition to games, applications that allow you to change the space in 3D or place furniture in a room are very popular. Among the free applications, users have fallen in love with IKEA Place. You no longer need to have a vivid imagination to imagine specific IKEA furniture in the living room or bedroom. Using the application, you can arrange IKEA furniture in the room the way you would like it, and then find out whether it suits you there or not.

Sensor Tower only considered apps that are primarily focused on augmented reality, so it did not include apps that offer limited functionality in its analysis. ARKitsuch as photo modes or minigames.
