The smartwatch market has been very interesting to watch over the past two years. A few years ago, it basically didn't exist and nobody was interested in it. Then it started to be speculated that Apple he is up to something and what was once a very marginal segment has suddenly become a very lucrative segment. Before Apple Watch se managed to discover a few more interesting models, but only smart watches from Appcaused onen boom. A boom that is, however, on the wane after two years and simpler models, focusing primarily on fitness functions, are gaining popularity.

The latest data was released by the analytical company IDC, and the current results are not for Apple not at all flattering. However, the Cupertino company is not alone in this. Samsung is doing even worse. On the other hand, in the highest places there are companies dedicated to simpler smart accessories, often in the form of ordinary fitness bracelets.
For the third quarter, the company Fitbit took the most of the market, selling 5,3 million devices and thus owning 23% of the market. It thus improved by more than 1,5% year-on-year. In second place is Xiaomi with 3,8 million units sold and 16,5% of the market. In third place is Garmin with 1,3 million units sold and a 5,7% market share.
4th place belongs to Applu, which managed to sell 1,1 million Apple Watch and thus occupies 4,9% of the market. At the same time last year, the company sold 3,9 million units and held 17,5% of the market. Several things are responsible for the current poor results. First of all, competition in the form of cheap smart bracelets (see above), although these can handle 10% of what Apple Watch. Sales were also affected by outdated offerings, as these results were not nestThey wanted to fully reflect the sales of the Series 2.

I would be interested in what kind of informative value these articles have. There are articles everywhere now about how traditional watchmakers are useless and people have switched to smart watches. TheircarThe Slovak economy is slowly going bankrupt because of this, and then other articles come out saying that the smart watch market is doing even worse than the original watchmakers. I think the last paragraph is the most telling. ProMaybe this quarter will show how the market is doing and what the interest is, because Xiaomi came with discounts and Apple and Samsung deployed new models. When I spoke to the saleswoman in Drazdansky Apple storu told me that the most interest lately has been in the Nike version, but that interest is compared to iPhones and macbooky is smaller. That it is at the level of a tablet.
I haven't used the watch for a good 10 years, because why not. It would have to have something fundamental, and for now it's just some kind of game on emotions and feelings that a person needs.
We already touched on that topic on MM (that is, a month ago, from which time slot did this fall out?).
It can be understood from the table that Garmin, Fénix or VívoSmart are similar to smart wearables. But what Fitbit or Xiaomi is doing there is a mystery.
Thus, after removing these "pseudo smart wearables", we arrive at completely different numbers. Then there is the question of what all those fighters from the table were able to include in "others", but it seems strange to me that for example Pebble, Asus, LG etc. even have relevant sales figures to give 10 mega...
Somehow, I don't understand how you can see that people don't want them, or that it decreases when they are constantly not around. I waited over a month for them and when they arrived, the next day they didn't have a single piece. Now when I look for Alza, I don't have any in stock - so I don't know how it is with the "not interested" :)
A game called Marketing.
This is not a supercar, it's a dozen consumer electronics piled high by the mileoneoh, you marketing people :)
The headline says that AW has 5% of the market, the first sentence of the article talks about "The smart watch market" and the article mentions bracelets from Xiaomi and Fitbit, things for tens of dollars. IDC calls it "Wearables device tracker”, which is not an analysis of the smartwatch market… Is it really hard to understand that AW doesn’t compete with bracelets for a fifth or even a twentieth of the price? The fact that IDC is doing this, perhaps on purpose, is one thing, but LSA At least he wouldn't have to put a crown on it.
That was a very bad comparison. We also wonder what Fabia is doing in the sales table of sports cars. Well, it's up to the editors :-)
RomanWell, thank you for not dismissing me in the way you often do, so I'll allow myself to respond. Apple it doesn't apply to me, it's the other way around :-) But now it's important. Smart watch =! Wearable electronics, it's just not IMHO correct when it's changed. If the article did not mention the smart watch market, where there are completely different players (at IDC, probably in the Other column), then I probably wouldn't consider the comparison, because it's still useless, IDC will keep spitting out the numbers, that probably won't change. And for that matter, Fabie is a car, but Fitbit and Xiaomi are not smart watches ;-)
