New iPhone 7 is the first time in the history of this product line waterproof. It meets the basic IP 67 certification and you don't have to worry about it that much. The phone should withstand 30 minutes of immersion in water at a depth of one meter. This is a significant improvement compared to previous devices. But how about the accessories? If it can go into the water iPhone, how about a case? With silicone ones it won't be much of a problem, with leather ones it is a bit. But what about the controversial Apple Battery Case? It is made of rubber (silicone), but the manufacturer really strongly recommends against any contact with water. So how is it in practice?

This experiment was attempted by one of the application developers for Apple ecosystem – Squirrels (offers products such as AirParrot, Reflector, etc.). So they took this cover, put it on iPhone 7 and immersed in water. Several tests were conducted. The first included immersion (60cm) for 30 minutes in a regular swimming pool, the second immersion (30cm) in seawater in the Florida Gulf, and the third immersion (30cm) in a hot tub. The results of the tests were quite surprising. Given that Apple I really strongly recommend against any contact of the cover with water, the packaging was basically a first. All internal installation is thoroughly sealed and water cannot get inside.ancand get. The only thing you need to be careful about is thorough drying Lightning koneAccording to the authors of the test, it is also clear that unbranded Lightning cables are more susceptible to corrosion. So if you are planning charge a wet phone, rather do it with the original cable. But we definitely do not recommend that you reproduce this experiment at home. It is against the manufacturer's instructions, which strongly discourages such behavior. However, it works :)
