A Reddit user has pointed out a new personal timeline gadget in Google Maps. Even though the number of Pokémon Go players after the initial boom decreased considerably, it's still one of the most played games today. Niantic may no longer be part of Google, but it looks like they've partially teamed up again to bring this new feature to players. The first to try the new feature in Google Maps pointed out, it was just “GoldLeader272” on Reddit.
Niantic is still working on new features and content for its most successful mobile game Pokémon Go. So it's no surprise that Google, under which Niantic started out, has put its hand in the works with this minor tweak to its maps. Specifically, to the Timeline function, which records your location all day and then saves it precisely in the form of a timeline. Each movement can be subsequently edited, and it is in this part of editing that Google has implemented a new function.
In the timeline view, you can choose to catch Pokémon instead of walking or driving to a specific location. What do you need to do to do this? Open Google Maps and click on the drop-down menu icon. You should see a Your Timeline button there, which will take you to a page where you can view specific days. After selecting a specific day, you should see a timeline of your travel activity during the selected day. All you have to do is click on the travel icon and select “Catching Pokémon.”
Niantic should release an update soon. It should bring some real news compared to today's "clever" new feature that shows you how much time you waste playing Pokémon. In the upcoming version, Niantic should bring the ability to trade and a new friend system. We can also hope that it will be availableoneThe Pokémon search system, which stopped working during the first weeks of the game's release, has been fixed.
