The most popular augmented reality game – Pokémon GO, has set a new record for downloads on App Store, which you can read more about here. Despite weak servers and bugs in the game that have not yet been fixed, the game became a hit. It had an estimated 5 million downloads in the US in just 7,5 days, earning over $1 a day in its first week. After two weeks, the number grew to 600 million daily active players. Nintendo shareholders and cafes near the PokéStop benefited from the success. In Japan, Pokémon Go has signed a sponsorship deal with McDonald's. In the game, McDonald's is shown as a Gym where players will compete against each other and play for prizes and experience.
