All our readers surely know that Apple yesterday evening introduced 4″ iPhone SE with upgraded hardware and replaced the one that was sold until now, almost three years old iPhone 5p. Title iPhone SE is very unconventional, as it goes against the established trend that the Californian giant always names iPhones with a number (except for the first iPhone) and optionally adds a letter to them for the "s" and "c" models. But the new 4" iPhone se It doesn't have a number in its name, so we have to settle for just SE. But what does the mysterious SE mean?

Even before the show, there was speculation that the pair of letters could stand for either "Smaller Edition" or "Special Edition," and some even suggested "Steve Edition." Apple because yesterday at the conference he didn't reveal what that mysterious abbreviation meant, so the biggest fight was mainly between the abbreviations "Smaller Editon" and "Special Edition." But there were also suggestions like "Still Expensive", "So Expensive", "Super Encrypted" or "Smaller Experience" and "Super Elegant."

Phill Schiler, Marketing Director Applu, but he revealed what the abbreviation actually means. The abbreviation SE really means "Special Edition" and we shouldn't look for anything else in it. In the end, the designation probably makes the most sense, since it is truly an unconventional iPhonewhich mixes iPhone 5s and iPhone 6s together, but in the end it only took something from both generations.

Phil Schiller just told me the “SE” stands for “Special Edition” @FortuneTech
