Applications such as 1Pass have stopped workingword, Acorn, DaisyDisk or Tweetbot? Then you are not alone. If these (and other) apps started showing you that the app is corrupted, can't be opened, and needs to be reinstalled, then the fault isn't on your end, but rather expired security certificates that expired on November 11, 2015, causing the apps to fail to run on OS X Yosemite or OS X El Capitan computers. Tweetbot creator Paul Haddad noticed that the aforementioned certificate is to blame, and he confirmed it, as usual, on Twitter. At the same time, he speculated that since the application uses SHA256 encryption, problems may also appear on older versions of the OS X system.

As for not being able to use apps on El Capitan, then multiple apps trying to contact the servers at the same time may be to blame Applu, resulting in an unwanted DDOS attack on the service that generates tickets for applications that use Internet communication. At the same time, the developer came up with possible ways to solve the problem with non-functional applications. While in some cases it is enough for the user to restart their Mac running Yosemite or later, in other cases the applications need to be reinstalled. An alternative is to log out and log in to yours again Apple ID. Finally, some applications no longer have the problem and that's because Apple released a new certificate with a validity date of 2035.
