Apple did not dedicate to the processor Apple A8 too much focus on performance. This was also reflected in the fact that compared to iPhone 5s there was only a 25% increase in performance, while in the past we encountered a double increase in performance. Procesors Apple A8s, however, have to work with a higher resolution, which was reflected in the miniminor difference in graphic qualityonewhen we compare iPhone 6 to iPhone 5s. However, the GFXBench application has been enriched with support for a couple of new ones iPhone, thanks to which it is able to perform a more accurate benchmark of these phones.
The latter focused on graphics performance and thanks to it we find that the advertised 50% increase in graphics performance compared to iPhone 5s is really there when it comes to rendering a scene using OpenGL ES at 1080p resolution. AT iPhone 6, this difference is visible and can already be seen during classic scene rendering in native resolution, where iPhone 6 capable of achieving 26,6 fps at 1334 × 750 pixels. iPhone 5s, on the other hand, achieved 24,4 fps at a resolution of 1136 × 640 pixels, but the lowest performance iPhone 6 Plus. It renders the graphics at a higher resolution than it should, and in fact the scenes are rendered at a resolution of 2208 × 1242 pixels and then downscaled to 1080p resolution. It participates in the fact that iPhone 6 Plus reached only 19 fps and its graphics performance is 22% less than last year's performance iPhone 5s.
Similar results were also achieved in the OpenGL ES 2.0 test, where iPhone 5s achieved 40,7 fps, while the iPhone The 6 Plus reached 41,5 fps. iPhone 6 showed the highest performance increase, reaching 49,9 fps in the benchmark. During the offscreen test of OpenGL ES 3.0, however, there was a coup d'état iPhone 6 Plus was up to 51% faster than iPhone 5s. iPhone 6 was only 43% faster in this case. For OpenGL ES 2.0, both new iPhones showed a 49% speedup over iPhone 5s.
So does the A8 processor in the ip 6 plus have to work at a higher frequency or does it have one more graphics unit than the ip6?
