I am the owner of a laptop with the system Windows. To be more precise, last year I took advantage of the launch promotion Windows 8 and I bought a box containing a pair of discs with Windows 8 Upgrade and next to them (of course) the license code. Because I have a laptop and I've tried on it before Windows 8, I found its operation with the touchpad very convenient, so I did not hesitate and paid honestly for the system. I used the classic, often criticized "Eight" quite happily until last week, when I switched to a newer version, Windows 8.1 Update…

...well, and then it started. I downloaded a massive 3 GB update to my computer, which after a week of use did more harm than good. On the one hand, I'm glad that I have the current version on my computer Windows and that I can thus enjoy a wider range of software that is available in Windows Store. I'm also glad he's the one Windows Store clearer, simpler and that app updates happen in the background, without my knowledge. I am also pleased with the variety of icons on the home screen and the overall updated environment that the update brought me. But that's probably all that pleases me.

Since I switched, my WiFi connection regularly drops out, even though the system says that I have the latest drivers installed - and I also had to download them from the WiFi module manufacturer's website, since the pre-installed driver in Windows 8.1 Update simply does not work and one can even stand on one's head. This was actually the very first problem I ran into a few minutes after the upgrade, and I solved it just the way I mentioned - nevertheless, sometimes it happens to me that the WiFi drops out, especially when one wants to move something to OneDrive, which is now part of the system.

Another big problem is slowness. While Windows 8 ran smoothly on my computer, on the "faster" Windows 8.1 Update After pressing the Start button, it takes me two seconds to open the Home screen environment. Of course, during those 2 seconds it is not possible to do anything with the computer, because it simply freezes. Well, in connection with the home screen environment and Metro, I am running into two more problems. HotCorners alias interactive corners, me after switching to the latest Windows they just stopped working. While at the good old one Windows 8 was a snap to switch between the desktop and the Modern app, now I have to press the "Win" key to get to the menu and from there I have to switch to the desktop. A similarly complex procedure awaits me when switching back to the Metro application. Already nesthow to move the mouse to the upper left corner and switch there. Now I have to go down with the mouse to the Start button (which I want to get rid of as soon as possible) and from it upwards, when the whole multitasking menu will pop up.

But I consider the broken Charms Bar and the slowed down Search to be the biggest win. Search in Windows 8 was also not exactly the fastest with a large number of files, but one did not have to philosophize about whether to restart the computer or wait. AT Windows Unfortunately, 8.1 Update is like that, and before I search and launch the application via Search, I admit that I should have launched it much faster using Win+R or the home screen. I also mentioned the broken Charms Bar. Yes, Charms Bar, probably the most important feature, after switching from Windows 8 na Windows 8.1 Update the Charms Bar simply stops working. And it's not just my problem - as I later found out on the internet, the same problem (and many others I mentioned above) are being complained about minialmost hundreds of other users directly on the forums Microsoftu, but also on other world-famous foreign forums. In order to use the Charms Bar again, one must then restart the file manager (explorer.exe) and even so the Charms Bar will only work for a few more minutes. So I hope he takes these problems Microsoft seriously and when he already plans to release this month Windows 8.1 Update 2, then I hope the new update will solve the problems caused by the first update. Otherwise, I'll probably have to go back to Windows 8 and in the future I'll have to have a very good reason to shell out the money for a newer version Windows. At least that one Office and Xbox work as they should…
