You're right that the Beats Solo HD, which I've had for about a year and a half, really don't have much sound. Now I've had the 2nd generation Beats for about half a year. Studio and the sound is much better than them. In fact, it's practically the same as Beats ProI definitely don't deny that you can buy some luxury Sennheisers with much better sound for the same price, but their design will be such that I wouldn't take them out anywhere, even by accident.
