Even regular maintenance may not turn out as expected, which is why the developers are probably not happy when their Apple cut off for more than 24 hours from the official developer portal Apple Developer Center. It is the primary access point to the developer forums, SDK, and OS X betas and iOS. Apple did not give any reason why the portal was "shut down", but claims that the portal will be active in the near future.
