Are people today addicted to their favorite apps? Well-known auction site eBay is aware of iTunes' fifth birthday App Store, and because his app was one of the first to appear on the menu, he decided to run a four-day survey to find out if people can stop using their apps today. A total of 200 people participated in the survey, but how many of them could not use their apps for four days? The result can be very surprising.

Almost 2/3 of all participants failed and started using their apps after some time. The most used applications were social services, photo sharing services, navigation services and weather forecasts. The reactions were very interesting. Among the most interesting reactions are certainly the following statements: "At times I felt quite helpless and uninformed." a "During these four days I felt so hopeless that after using them again I began to feel peaceful."

After users got back into their apps, 50% of them felt happier, 40% more productive, 39% more peaceful, and 32% less frustrated. Finally, it is interesting to see how many percent of the participants began to engage in their activities more intensively after installing the applications. 49% started taking photos and recording videos, 48% started reading the news, 22% started saving money, 23% started meeting their family and friends, 21% started shopping, 12% exercised and ate, 5% went on dates.
