Tech Crunch claims that Apple will soon release Mac OS X 10.7 Lion GM1. This designation stands for Golden Master 1, typically GM-only (no numbered) versions reach end customers and are the versions that are then pressed to DVD. But now Apple changed the label and that number means that this is the first of the versions suitable for end customers.

Apple So Mac OS X 10.7 Lion GM1 is only the first of several Golden Master releases. Typically, such releases are called Realase Candidates.
