The most popular video player for Mac, VLC, is now also available in an iPad version and you can download it for free from iTunes App Store here. Version for iPhone and iPod touch should arrive in the coming days. The app supports the same video codecs and formats as its Mac OS X version, so you don't have to convert your video to MP4, an iTunes-compatible format. Once installed, you can move files from your drive to your iPad library by simply dragging them from your drive to the iPad icon in iTunes.
Well, I didn't even hope that we would get here. If this plays everything that VLC plays, including subtitles, then great:) I WILL put programs there that I record from PlayTV and others :)
Will play, so far I've tried a few episodes of series and no problems. The subtitles (.srt) work, but the Czech is not correct, a classic problem with fonts. On the iPad, nothing can be set in the VLC application, so it will have to be coded on the computer side. But still great, the crazy conversion made my blood drink, this will push the iPad a lot further.
