The largest Czech photo album rajče.net is releasing the first test versions of recording plugins for iPhoto and Aperture and since we are in the first positions in the RSS reader of Mirek Buček (founder of rajce.net), he was the first to provide us with exclusive information about this plugin. If you encounter any problems while using it, please contact Miroslav Buček bucek@rajce.net or the author Alan Dragomirecky a.dragomirecky@gmail.com.
rajce.net on iPhoto and Aperture
The plugin interface is minimalistic, you enter your login email and password, then the album name and its description and that's it. iPhoto or Aperture will automatically reduce the photos to a size and quality suitable for viewing on websites (1200px or 1400px respectively) and then upload them to Tomato. This is a very fast method, so far it was possible to upload photos under Mac OS X only using a web flash uploader, which had one major disadvantage, it uploaded the original photos to the server and reduced them on the server side, which was lengthy and unnecessarily burdened the Internet connection with the upload.
How to test plugins?
- Download zip and extract:
- Pro iPhoto copy the directory "iphotoPlugin.iPhotoExporter" to your Library "~Library/Application Support/iPhoto/Plugins/” (if the structure does not exist, create it).
- Start iPhoto, mark the photos and choose File -> Export (Shift+Cmd+E) from the menu.
Pro Aperture copy the file "aperturePlugin.ApertureExport" to your Library "~Library/Application Support/Aperture/Plug-ins/Export/” (if the structure does not exist, create it).
Then start Aperture and select the photos, then you have two options, either right-click to call up the context menu, where you choose Export -> Upload to Rajče.net or the menu File -> Export -> Upload to Rajče.net
A convenient installer is also in the works
Prothat this is a wound betaversion of the plugins, there is no installer that will be available in the final version.
A sample video of use with Aperture can be found in the accompanying album.
