AVG today introduced AVG LinkScanner for Mac OS X Leopard and Snow Leopard operating systems supporting web browsers Safari 3.x, Safari 4.x, Safari 5.x and Mozilla Firefox 3.x and their higher versions. We intentionally do not include a download link, because after trying it we found that the Internet and the entire computer slowed down incredibly and uninstalling AVG is really an art and we are currently struggling with it. WE DO NOT RECOMMEND!

I'm also having problems uninstalling. I didn't look here, idiot. I used AppCleaner. From the trash Safe emptying, but there is still a colored icon on the top bar, I don't know what to do with it. Could you please just briefly advise what to do with it? Thanks
You have to remove it from System preferences (right-click and delete), then search for all AVG files in the spotlight and move them to the folder, restart, delete the folder and run something you use for cleaning, then restart and that's it.
