Commercial message: This Friday, the American company Space Exploration Technologies Corp., known as SpaceX, is going public. The company is headed by a billionaire Elon Musk, who also serves as CEO. SpaceX will offer approximately 4% of the shares for around $75 billion when it enters the market, valuing the company at around $1,8 trillion.

In terms of IPO size, it will be the largest in history. The previous record was held by Saudi Aramco, which raised just under $30 billion in its debut. SpaceX plans to offer 555,555,555 shares at a price of $135 each. Elon Musk you areoneHe owns approximately 42% of the shares, but thanks to his Class B shares with ten voting rights, he will still control 82,4% of the votes in the company. SpaceX will remain under his direct leadership. If the company maintains a market capitalization of around $1,8 trillion, it will be among the eight largest companies in the world, just behind Nvidia, AppleAlphabet Microsoft, Amazon, TSMC and Broadcom.

SpaceX divides its business into three main segments:oneactivity, space and AI. Last year, the company earned $18,7 billion, which is a year-on-year increase of 33,2%, but still reported a loss of about $5 billion. The largest segment isoneactivity, which includes, for example, the Starlink satellites, which generated $3,3 billion in the first quarter alone. The space segment, with revenues of $619 million, includes all commercial flights and rocket launches. The last AI segment includes projects such as xAI, the social network X, or Grok, with revenues of $818 million but an operating loss of $2,5 billion. These segments are closely interconnected - their own rockets launch the Starlink satellites and at the same time provide data for other services.

But SpaceX is also looking ahead. The company estimates that the target market for its services could reach $28,5 trillion, almost the size of the US GDP. Plans include space tourism, in-orbit manufacturing and mining, building data centers in space, producing energy, and mining on asteroids. At the same time, the company admits that these plans involve significant risks and uncertain timelines.

It is important to remember that IPOs of new companies are often volatile. Historical data shows that newly listed stocks tend to underperform the market as a whole in the first few years after their listing. Therefore, if you are considering investing in SpaceX, it is essential to carefully study the company's official documents and weigh all the opportunities and risks that this historic debut brings. After the IPO, SpaceX shares will be available for trading on the XTB platform, where you can view them and add them to your portfolio after registering.
