The Pentagon has taken a step that has been talked about for years. It has launched a new website on which it is gradually starting to publish documents related to UFOs, or rather, unidentified aerial phenomena as they are more commonly referred to today. And the first batch is not small at all.
To begin with, the website has 162 documents covering the period from the 40s to the present. This is not just a general summary. For example, FBI materials, old diplomatic cables, and NASA transcripts from manned space missions are available.
The Pentagon is taking a relatively straightforward approach to this. It says the public should draw their own conclusions from the declassified documents. In other words, there is no clear answer yet to the question of what exactly people are observing in the sky.

The website itself, which collects the documents, is also interesting. According to initial reviews, it feels a bit like going back in time. Black and white images, typography reminiscent of a typewriter, and an overall atmosphere that evokes an archive from the Cold War era rather than a modern portal. The stories themselves, which appear in the documents, stand out all the more.
One of them is the statement of a person identified as a drone pilot, recorded by the FBI. He allegedly observed a strange linear object in the sky with a strong light, in which individual bands were visible, in September 2023. According to the statement, the object appeared for only a few seconds and then disappeared.
Another interesting photo is a NASA photo from the Apollo 17 mission in 1972. It shows three dots arranged in a triangle. The Pentagon says there is no consensus on its interpretation, but more recent analysis suggests it could be a physical object.

The release of the documents fits into a broader push for greater openness.
