Since summer is the season we spend most of our time in the US and we only stay at home miniI didn't want to invest some absurd amount of money in a vacuum cleaner. Design and parameters of Spino E1
The first thing you notice is the compact body, which has a really nice design for a water vacuum cleaner. Basically, you control everything with a single button and the only thing you have to do is flip the lid, from which you then remove the collection basket, which you can then rinse under the hose and everything is clean. Once in a while, and we are really talking about doing this once a season, it is a good idea to simply detach the rubber brushes and throw them in the washing machine or clean them by hand. You don't have to worry about anything else. Despite the weight of 9,3 kg, I must say that the weight is pleasantly distributed and the handle makes the vacuum cleaner easy to carry and pull out of the water. The vacuum cleaner can work for 210 minutes on a single charge, but if you activate the function where it stays glued to the water line for 15 minutes so that you can comfortably pull it out of the water, this time must be deducted from the operating time. Those 210 minutes then work in all modes except beta Turbo mode, which has a higher energy consumption. Charging is done simply by plugging the cable included in the package into the vacuum cleaner after opening the rubber plug and a full charge occurs in 3 hours.

Modes that will make your life easier
Within the application, you have the option to switch between five different modes. You can choose whether to vacuum only the floor, only the walls, all at once, or activate the so-called Turbo and ECO modes. While Turbo mode increases the engine thrust and reduces battery life, ECO mode is something that will simply entertain you and make your life easier. It consists of leaving the vacuum cleaner in the water and it vacuums the bottom for 50 minutes once every 2 days. This way it can work 3 times, so you have peace of mind for 6 days, and although it is of course not a completely thorough cleaning including the water line and the walls of the pool, it is an absolutely perfect solution.
It is enough to clean the water line and walls thoroughly once a week. You have the vacuum cleaner in the water for 6 days, during which time it cleans the bottom 3 times very well and on the seventh day you simply charge it, throw it back in the water and do a complete cleaning. Then you charge it and you have peace in ECO mode for 6 days again. This combination has proven to be the best for me varianta and you actually take care of the vacuum cleaner once a week, when you charge it 2 times and clean the dirt basket. Thanks to its compact size, it will not be a burden in the pool, and thanks to the fact that it is not connected to the socket with a cable, you do not have to worry about having it in the pool while you are swimming. For me, this is the best way to use the Spino E1 to the fullest and at the same time take full advantage of the fact that you have a cordless vacuum cleaner and do not have to take care of it every day.

As for the application, the first thing to realize is that of course you cannot control the vacuum cleaner when it is underwater. You simply cannot get a Wi-Fi or Bluetooth signal under the water surface in such a quality that it is possible to control the vacuum cleaner. The application is used to set up the vacuum cleaner at the moment before you throw it into the pool. The application is used to select from five modes, which we will get to later. It can also change the sound notification settings, select experimental modes or, for example, update the vacuum cleaner via Wi-Fi. You can set the surface of the pool for better cleaning, switch units or also choose the speed of the vacuum cleaner. Honestly, it is not the prettiest application I have ever seen, and I like the applications from both Roborock and Navimow better and they offer a greater number of options, but this is mainly due to the nature of a home vacuum cleaner, or rather a lawnmower, compared to a water vacuum cleaner. You can find everything you need to change and set in the application, conveniently and easily.

How does the Spino E1 vacuum?
What you are most interested in, of course, is the vacuuming itself and its quality. First of all, it is important to realize that the 150 m² that the robot can clean is 150 m² of the entire pool area. So, for example, if you have a 2 × 5 meter pool that is 2 meters deep, you need to take into account that you will actually clean 38 m². I understand that for most people this will be completely enough, but maxThe minimum pool area that a vacuum cleaner can clean is, for example, 4 × 17 meters with a depth of 2 meters. However, I would prefer to count on a smaller pool so that it can go over each part repeatedly. Mine is 2 meters deep and the pool size is 3 × 5 meters, so the total area cleaned is 47 square meters, which should ideally mean that the robot can go over each place 3 times. For the sake of completeness, I will add that we have a pool with salt water, a cover and a heat pump.
I have to say that I was really impressed with what the robot can vacuum up. Of course, leaves and other larger dirt can be vacuumed up by practically every vacuum cleaner on the market, but where the quality starts to be decided is sand, pollen and other fine dirt including humus residues and similar "tasty" things. The robot really vacuums up everything and in the basket you will find practically anything that the pool filtration itself does not filter out, i.e. everything heavy that is on the bottom or that is stuck to the walls or water line. There are also finer baskets than this one, which is 180 μm, but to be honest, those only take things that are inherently agitated anyway, and if you turn on the filtration while vacuuming, the filtration will collect them, so miniat least if you use something other than ordinary sand. At least that is my experience and if you want a finer filter, it is possible to make it, because unfortunately the manufacturer does not produce it. I used to use a BWT corded vacuum cleaner, which had a really extremely fine filter at the level of 20 μm, and I must say that I do not notice any fundamental difference. Moreover, in the case of the BWT, it was quite difficult to clean the filter well and it had to be cleaned after each vacuuming, which is not necessary with the Spino E1 and it is more than enough if you clean it, for example, once a week, if you use the vacuum cleaner in the same way as I described above in the modes. I like that the vacuum cleaner can vacuum a place next to a place on the walls, because it uses sensors and really navigates the space. In addition, it vacuums the water line even longer than other parts and cleans it with a rubber brush, which is visible after the first use even in the case of a relatively clogged water line, for example after winter. Although the manufacturer does not mention it much in any reviews, the robot can also handle the steps in the pool very well, which it cleans very well thanks to its compact dimensions.
The only thing that surprised me was that the robot can only communicate with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth when it is on the surface. So I would expect that when it stays on the water line for 15 minutes, attached to the wall, it will send a notification to your phone and you will pull it out. Unfortunately, this does not happen. nestYes, and so if you are not at the pool, the wall suction function is practically useless, or you have to set a countdown and it will notify you that the robot needs to be pulled out. I find that quite unmanageable and I would expect the phone to notify me.
On the other hand, the robot will end up where you threw it into the water. This means that if, for example, you have a covered pool like me and you want to pull the cover off just to throw the robot in, the robot will end up in the same place and you can easily pull it out using the included hook. Pulling it out is really convenient and if you have a long pole, I would say it is much more convenient than with corded vacuum cleaners, which you can't pull out of the pool by the cable anyway and have to bend over to reach them, which is not the case with the Spino E1, because you can easily pull it from the bottom to the shore using the pole.
Who is Mammotion Spino E1 ideal for?
The Spino E1 is not a vacuum cleaner for everyone, but if you fall into one of the following groups, it really makes a lot of sense. It is ideal especially for owners of smaller and medium-sized pools, where it can cover the entire bottom and walls repeatedly without any problems. If you have a pool with around 20 to 60 m² of real cleaning area, it works absolutely without compromise. It also makes a lot of sense if you already have high-quality filtration and you need to deal mainly with heavier dirt such as sand, pollen or residues that remain on the bottom. The Spino E1 is not a replacement for filtration, but its ideal complement. It is also a great choice for those who do not want to deal with cables. If you have ever used a classic pool vacuum cleaner, you know that handling the cable is often more annoying than vacuuming itself. Here, this problem is completely eliminated, you simply throw the vacuum cleaner into the water and do not worry about anything else. It also makes sense for people who are not always at home. Thanks to the ECO mode, it can operate for several days practically without intervention, which makes it an ideal solution for a cottage or for those who have a pool but do not want to spend time around it every day. On the other hand, if you are looking for a solution that will completely replace filtration and collect even the finest impurities in the water, then this is not the right choice and you need to look for more expensive models.

Will the Spino E1 replace pool filtration?
It will not replace it. The vacuum cleaner collects dirt from the bottom and walls, but fine particles in the water must be dealt with by filtration.
Does it work in salt water?
Yes, the vacuum cleaner is also designed for salt water (up to 5000 ppm), so it can be used without any problems even in modern pools with a saltwater system.

In conclusion, I must say that the Spino E1 is a very high-quality vacuum cleaner and I rate it as basically unbeatable in its price category. Basically, it has only two disadvantages for me, namely the possibility of using a collection basket with a finer filter, which the manufacturer simply does not sell, and the possibility of receiving a notification after cleaning is completed and parking on the surface, which is something that could come with some software update. Of course, there are better, but also significantly more expensive vacuum cleaners. For the price it is offered for, it is a great partner when you have high-quality and fine filtration, thanks to which you really only deal with sand and other dirt that remains on the bottom. If you want to replace the filtration with a vacuum cleaner and deal with things that come off the bottom when vacuuming and should be absorbed by the filtration instead of the vacuum cleaner, you need to look elsewhere. However, I am satisfied with the purchase and I must say that a cordless vacuum cleaner is much easier and better to use than a corded one, where you always have to wind the cable and plan on storing it. The Spino E1 is a great partner for you and your pool and I believe that you will be as satisfied as I am.
