Analog stick drift is a nightmare for almost every gamer. Your character moves on its own, the camera constantly dodges, and precise gameplay becomes virtually impossible. If this is the problem with your DualSense controller, don't rush to the store for a new one. There is a very effective procedure that can save it.
Start with a hard reset
Before you try more complicated solutions, try the simplest way. The system inside the controller could simply have frozen. On the back of the controller, near the L2 button, you will find a small hole. Take a regularancTake a paper clip, insert it inside, and hold down the hidden button for about five seconds. This will completely power down the controller and return it to factory settings. Then, simply reconnect it to the PS5 using the USB cable and test to see if the drifting has gone away.

Advanced calibration via computer
If the above didn't help, a heavier caliber is the way to go. The developer community has created special calibration tool, which you can download from the GitHub platform. The great news is that you can run this handy application without any problems on a classic PC with Windows, and on Mac too.
Simply connect the controller to your computer using a cable and run the program. The application can overwrite the values directly in the controller firmware and re-center the zero point of the stick. This gives the worn sensor brand new instructions on where the center is exactly. Since this new calibration is hard-coded directly into the controller's memory, when you return to the console, the drifting will most likely be gone.
I think it's great how the community can elegantly solve problems that manufacturers often turn a blind eye to. While this software won't necessarily fix a physically cracked or completely destroyed part, it's a perfect free solution for normal wear and tear on levers.
