Owners Apple Vision Pro can look forward to an interesting gaming addition. Valve has decided to bring its Steam Link application to this platform. Gamers will soon be able to wirelessly stream their favorite computer games from a Mac or PC directly to the glasses, within their home network.

The application is currently in the testing phase and access to beta version is carried out via the platform TestFlightValve promises improved network performance, support for streaming at resolutions up to 4K, and a nifty feature for dynamically adjusting the curvature of the display in panoramic mode. The idea of playing high-end titles on a giant virtual screen in your living room just sounds great.

However, there is one major limitation that hinders this over-enthusiasm. The current version is designed exclusively for 2D streaming and does not support any VR content from Steam. Whether this support will be added in the future remains a question mark. Valve has also not yet revealed an official release date for the full version.

I think it's a bit of a half-baked solution for now. Wearing one of the most advanced headsets on the market and only streaming flat games to it feels like untapped potential.
