I had a nice bug on my iP17 right after installing on 26.2. I opened a few apps, read my email and after closing the app my phone froze. The display was on and I couldn't do anything, the phone didn't respond and I had to do a coldboot. I think iOS26 is overall a pretty good system ;D because I don't remember my phone ever freezing in the last 10 years unless it was a rooted Android.
The same thing happened to me. For the first time.
I had the same thing on my iP17pro max. I just had to lock and unlock the phone. But as you write, it froze, it didn't respond to touch.

It froze up for me too. WiFi is crappy from the start. Strangely behaving search in safariVarious random app crashes. This really didn't happen before.
