Company Apple presented at this year's WWDC as part of the operating system launch iOS 26, among other things, three major new features for boarding passes in the native Wallet. Not long after the public version was released iOS 26, United is the first airline to support these features Airlines.

With new features, iPhone users can track their flight in real time on supported airlines right from the Lock screen, view an airport map, and even track their checked bags through the Find My app. These features connect Apple Wallet with other system services iOS and significantly simplify the entire travel experience.

What's new with boarding passes in Wallet iOS 26

The new boarding passes allow you to track live flight activity directly on the lock screen, so you always have an overview of the current flight status, departure time, any delays and when boarding will begin - without having to open the app. Wallet also automatically displays an airport map with an overview of terminals, gates and available services, making it easier to find your way around before departure. Another useful new feature is checked baggage tracking in the Find app, which works similarly to tracking AirTags or other devices Apple. However, activating live flight activity is not automatic – the user must tap a button in the Wallet app that adds flight tracking to the lock screen. If you choose to share flight tracking with friends, they will also see the live activity on their iPhone, but without sensitive information like your boarding group or seat number.

Not only United

According to AppOther companies will join in supporting the new features in the near future: Air Canada, American Airlines, Delta, JetBlue, Jetstar, Lufthansa, Qantas, Southwest and Virgin Australia. United Airlines is the first representative to deploy the new solution into production, sending a clear signal that digital travel is one step further. New features in Wallet in iOS 26 take the travel experience to the next level – the boarding pass becomes the center of all important flight information. The ability to track departure times, delays and baggage from a single screen brings greater clarity, peace of mind and convenience.
