Your MacBook he can probably handle a lot more than you think. Did you know, for example, that his trackpad can be turned into a scale that can weigh various objects? This option is not available natively, however, given that trackpady support pressure control, thanks to a clever developer, an application has been created that will enable weighing. It is called TrackWeight, it is absolutely simple and although it naturally suffers from technical limitations trackpadWow, this is a very interesting use.
The TrackWeight app is very simple to use. After downloading, installing and launching it, you will be greeted by a simple user interface where you can either measure the pressure on your trackpad with your finger (Scale section), or weigh objects through the experimental function in the Guided section. For the measurement to work, you need to constantly keep an eye on trackpadwith a finger placed on it. Trackpad It works capacitively, so without your finger it will be "dead" and will not measure anything at all. However, as soon as your finger is on trackpad You put it on (and it doesn't matter where, we in the editorial office had it in the upper right corner, for example), you can put anything smaller that fits on it, and then just watch how the weighing is going on.
We in the editorial team weighed a number of things, starting with AirPods and ending with an apple, and when compared with a kitchen scale, we got very accurate matches with a deviation of units of grams. However, it should be added in one breath that weighing itself of course requires a little practice, because it is influenced by the pressure exerted by your finger on the trackpadIt is therefore crucial to learn to position it so that it trackpad weighed 0 grams and the resulting weight was not misleading in any way. Finally, we would just like to add that the application only runs on Macs with chips Apple Silicon – that is, with M1 and newer.
