This autumn is traditionally associated with testing new Apple products that premiered at the beginning of September and went on sale around the middle of it. And since I have the most anticipated test, review iPhone 17 Pro, already successfully behind us, it's time to take a look at another of the presented phones from the workshop Applu. This time it's the turn of the most interesting design that you can currently buy from the Californian giant - namely the iPhone AirSo if you're wondering what this handsome guy is like in real life, check out the review iPhone Air will probably answer all your questions. And if not, of course you can ask everything about this phone in the comments below this article.

The look will simply fascinate you.

If you have already been to iPhone Air If you look at it in the store, you will agree with me when I say that the first impression of it is simply fantastic. The thinness of just 5,64 mm, which is Applu managed to achieve, it looks almost unbelievable compared to the iPhone 17 (Pro) and reminds us of the times of the iPhone 6 as the last truly thin models, after which only "thickening" came. When you add to the exceptionally thin body a polished titanium frame or four successful color options varianty, while I have a light blue one available, but light gold, white and black are also available, we get a piece that is a finished design gem and a feast for the eyes.

iPhone Air 2

Unlike the iPhone 17 Pro, the back of the phone is all glass, and the protruding rear photo module is also made of glass, which hides the wide-angle lens first and a number of other internal components second.oneents that did not fit elsewhere due to their thinness. The photomodule is then glossy, while the rest of the back is matte – as it should be Apple in previous years, iPhones with glass backs have been the norm. The positive thing is that for the first time in history, the back is equipped with technology Ceramic Shield 2, which should provide them with higher durability. I cannot objectively assess whether this is the case, but in order to enjoy the thinness of the phone as much as possible, I used it primarily with the original bumper and during the testing period, no traces of scratches appeared on the glass back.

The bend resistance is also really good. You've probably seen a lot of videos on YouTube where creators tried to bend phones in their hands, but were unsuccessful. I tried a few bends, although not using any extreme force, and I have to say that there is definitely no reason to worry about it bending in your pocket or something like that. The titanium body does tend to flex (even with less force applied when bending), but the phone always bounced back without any damage.

The display is beautiful, but...

It may sound a bit strange, but the thin body of the phone actually determines how you perceive its display. Over the past few years, we've gotten used to iPhones being little bricks with one side lit up, but with the arrival of the iPhone Air you kind of feel like you're not looking at a brick, but rather at a sheet (or rather a stack) of papers with the display on top. Especially from an angle, the view of the phone with the display lit up, which is of course thanks to the use of 6,5" Super Retina The XDR panel with a brightness of up to 3000 nits is a truly great spectacle outdoors. But that's true of all this year's iPhonech, because on paper their displays are completely identical, which is very good news for me personally. After all, the display is the main thing that a person comes into contact with on a phone, so it should be at the highest level.

However, I have one complaint here. Because of its thinness, it had to Apple unsurprisingly struggle with the placement of internal compsoneents, which brought with it, among other things, a slight change in the location Dynamic Islandu. It is positioned a little lower than on the iPhone 17 (Pro), which means that it is overall more prominent and therefore more distracting. So if you are not a fan of it, you will not be completely satisfied here, because you will have it in your field of vision more than before. We are talking about miniIt's a small shift, but when watching videos on YouTube and the like, this different type of display overlay can be a bit annoying. So it's good to take it into account.

Like a feather in your hand

It's not just the thinness that makes the phone stand out. To entertain you at AirIt will also have a low weight of 165 grams, which seems almost unbelievable for a 6,5" phone. Just to give you an idea, a 6,3" iPhone 17 weighs 177 grams and 6,3" iPhone 17 Pro then 204 grams. So if you are switching especially from Pro models, believe me, the weight will not leave you cold, just as it was and actually still is for me. Thanks to it, the phone feels really perfect in the hand and, to be honest, completely different from what you are used to with iPhones. The processing is iPhone Air simply unique and that is ultimately his main trump card, which he relies on in sales.

That you left Apple The fact that every detail really matters in terms of design and how the phone feels in your hand is also demonstrated by how perfectly balanced the phone is. Although its upper side is quite massive due to the rear camera module, I can't say that the phone tends to be overweight or generally feels unbalanced. On the contrary, I Air seems to be one of the best balanced mobile phones currently available on the market. You just have to take into account that the 6,5" display is already quite large and even I, as a man with quite large hands, am not able to comfortably reach the upper corners of the display, which I am in the case of the 17 Pro. So this phone is not for small hands, unless you are prepared to use it with two hands.

Performance-wise, it breathes on the back of Pro models, but not cooling

Although it is iPhone Air extremely thin, it has power to give. Its heart is the A19 Pro chip with a 6-core CPU and 5-core GPU (i.e. it has one less GPU core than iPhone 17 Pro), all of which is complemented by 12GB of RAM and 256GB, 512GB or 1TB of storage. Given the chip used, it probably won't surprise you that the smoothness and overall use of the phone is a complete fairy tale, which is to be expected for a phone with a price tag starting at CZK 30,000.

I tried the iPhone's performance Air compare with iPhonem 17 Pro and to be honest, the differences are completely negligible. You can launch demanding applications just as quickly, games will load just as quickly, and some rendering and similar entertainment that requires a lot of graphics can be handled. iPhone 17 Pro faster, but it's not a huge difference. So honestly I think the iPhone's performance Air there is no need to solve it in any way, just like the performance of the iPhone 17 Pro and 17. Because the vast majority of users will not only not be enough, but will not be able to use it even half. And I don't mean that in a bad way. However, iPhones have been so powerful for many years that every acceleration of the chip is in a way an upgrade for an extremely narrow group of users.

Unfortunately, with high performanceoneIt also goes hand in hand with warming up, which you cannot avoid here. iPhone Air it has a tendency to "heat" quite a bit, especially in the area around the rear photomodule, where the chip and a number of other electronics are hidden. You will encounter heating, for example, right after you unpack the phone from the box and start restoring it from a backup. As soon as you start putting more "into the body" of it, for example by playing games, performing performance tests and so on, the back will heat up more and more. I have to say objectively that they heat up as quickly as they cool down, but if the heating of the back of phones has bothered you in the past, you will not be completely happy here. Hell, the absence of a vapor chamber or any more sophisticated internal cooling system is noticeable. On the other hand, I think that iPhone Air was never conceived as a worker who has, through his performance, onem to break rocks. And since it practically doesn't heat up at all during normal use, I'm kind of okay with it heating up under higher loads, considering its design.

Two-faced camera

Although it has iPhone Air quite a prominent rear photo module, it houses only one camera, namely a wide-angle one with a resolution of 48MPx, an aperture of f/1,6 or optical image stabilization with sensor shift. Of course, there is also support for other lens focal lengths, where in addition to the classic 26 mm, 28 mm and 35 mm are available, with 26 mm being a 1x zoom, 28 mm being a 1,1x zoom and 35 mm being a 1,4x zoom. If we add to all this the support for 2x hybrid zoom (in other words, a 12MPx photo cut from a 48MPx image), we get a total of 4 cameras that can be used to take photos. This may seem like a quite comfortable setup at first glance, but the truth is that if you enjoy taking photos and like playing with a camera, you won't have much fun with it.

iPhone Air 4

This is in no way to say that the iPhone's rear camera is Air bad, because it is absolutely not, quite the opposite! After all, according to our information, its sensor should be somewhere between iPhonem 17 and 17 Pro. However, the zoom options are simply limited and although it is sometimes possible to zoom in simply by physically approaching the subject, you simply won't be able to take many photos that way. In a way, the absence of ultraa wide-angle camera that can take wide-angle photos with a fisheye effect. It's true that I personally don't take many of these photos in a year, but from time to time you find yourself in a situation where you need to get as much as possible into the frame and this option is sorely lacking.

And it's a real shame. If I had to evaluate the quality of the wide-angle camera, I would say it's really brilliant. The color capture, details, sharpness and overall quality of the photo are very good even on a 32" 4K display, although of course it also applies here that a significant part of the photo is not created by your mind, but by artificial intelligence, which brings it to near perfection. Therefore, don't be afraid that when you take a photo, it may not look good at all at first. Artificial intelligence is probably still working on it and within a few seconds it will "jump" to you with the final result, which is incomparably better than the original. Moreover, the rear camera does not perform badly at all even in poor lighting conditions. Even in those conditions, you are able to take fairly high-quality photos without excess noise. You can see a few examples below.

But what's the point when only one rear camera takes great photos and often more than one is useful. The camera's limitations are even greater. Given that it lacks ultrawide-angle lens, you can also say goodbye to macro photos, which are another fun feature we have on iPhonech has been available for years. And while it is true that macro photography is not an everyday thing for most of us, it is simply a shame to be deprived of this feature on a phone for 30,000 CZK. And believe me, I am really sorry. In terms of design, this phone is a real gem and I have to honestly say that how beautiful it is will probably force you to forgive some of its shortcomings. But sometimes it just doesn't work, and the limited rear camera, which doesn't even catch up with the one on the 7,000 CZK cheaper iPhone 17, is proof of that.

As for the front camera, it is fantastic. As with the basic iPhones 17 and Pro models, there is a camera with a resolution of 18 Mix and an aperture of f/1,9, which supports, for example, centering the frame for photos and so on. The selfie photos and videos you take with it are incomparably better than those of iPhones from previous years, and I almost want to say that you are slowly reaching the level of photos from the rear camera system. While in previous years, selfie photos were "flat", uninteresting and did not have high quality, now they are lively, full of details and much more plastic, which is absolutely great for me personally.

Apple Moreover, he didn't forget about the fans of the video shoot. Well, how can you say that? Compared to iPhone 17 or 17 Pro missing AirFor example, there is support for Filmmaker mode, spatial video, but we did not get 4K slow motion or time-lapse. However, at least there is support for recording with the front and rear cameras simultaneously. Yes, this is a feature that iPhones have already managed in previous years thanks to third-party applications, a native solution from AppHowever, it is really cool thanks to the ability to move the video window from the front camera de facto anywhere on the display, as it works in Picture-in-Picture mode. You can watch a short video demonstration below.

Battery life is on the verge of being usable

By far the most discussed topic around the iPhone Air is its battery life. Concerns about this phone preceded it for many months before it was even introduced to the world, which, however, was not realized due to its miniThe thickness of the clay is not surprising. Apple however, on its website it reassures users that it should Air can handle up to 27 hours of video playback, which is the same value it gives for the iPhone 16 Pro. On keynote then he mentioned several times that the phone can last a whole day. But is that actually the case?

In my opinion, this is quite debatable. As a former owner of the iPhone 16 Pro, I dare say that its durability is iPhone Air it's nowhere near enough, because while with the 16 Pro I could easily end the day with 20% battery life during active use, iPhone Air It literally stays at a few percent. And this is despite the fact that I have adaptive power mode active, which should extend battery life, automatic brightness turned on, and so on.

I certainly wouldn't say that I use my phone a lot. But it's true that I spend about 3 hours a day calling, answering emails, and communicating via messengery or I check whether it's because of work or procrastination on social networks and so on. In the "Active display" metric (It indicates the time the display was on and active, i.e. when the device was running "in the light". It doesn't care about specific applications, but purely about whether the display was on and the device was actively in use) it usually lights up for me for about 5 hours (in extreme cases maxat least 8) and of course this includes long calls and the like. My working style has been the same for years and the iPhones Pro are perfectly adequate for it, with quite a bit of battery left at the end of the day. U AirBut you have to calculate much more with the battery.

There hasn't been a day in the last week when I haven't been at least subconsciously worried that my phone will run out of battery before I go to bed at night. Sure, I've been using it a bit atypically and even though I could, I haven't been charging it during the day on charging stands and the like to get the most out of its battery life, but thanks to that I can safely say that "sure in the shacks" is, in terms of battery life iPhone Air It definitely isn't, and users who don't have the opportunity to "feed" it from the network during the day could struggle quite a bit to exist or not.

iPhone Air 1

The battery in your phone is simply small and any action will take its toll on it. Literally. Even taking a few photos can take a few percent of your battery, which can be quite lacking at the end of the day. In a way, people tend to monitor how they use their phone, but they also monitor its charge level more, which was miniAt first it seems quite strange. The joy of thinness is suddenly a bit far away – especially when you realize who this phone is actually for. Or rather, who it is not for. One would think that, given its design, it would be perfect for managers who are constantly on the phone and don't care about anything else. But they could run out of battery power pretty quickly. But in the end, it may not even be for women as a fashion accessory for a luxury handbag, because if it is a woman who likes to take photos, even of completely stupid ones, the battery will run out before her eyes. I'm not talking about gaming fans and the like.

Moreover, neither CarPlay not with the phone of courseonem is a complete friend and can suck it off very well. Just to give you an idea, if you have Spotify turned on in combination with Google Maps, expect your phone to be charged when using wireless CarPlay It drains about 10% per hour of driving, which is not a lot.

In short, stamina is an extremely limiting factor that you won't enjoy if you don't approach the game with a strong core. Applem called a power bank. Of course, this will extend the battery life by many hours, and in the case of a power bank directly from Applu doesn't make the phone's body any bigger, but you just don't want to think about it. After all, it's just another device that needs to be charged, which isn't exactly optimal. That's why I personally didn't really get into this game and tried iPhone Air use without an additional battery, which was quite a purgatory some days. And maybe because I just want to enjoy the smoothest display possible on a phone starting at 30,000 CZK, which you won't enjoy here, because the low power mode, which is just ProMotion deactivates, it becomes your daily bread. And you simply don't want that.

You can't jump straight into the air even with the charging speed, because while the iPhone You can get 17 Pro by using a cable of about 33W, with the iPhone Air you have at your disposal maxminimum charging power around 18 to 19W. Sure, you're charging a smaller battery and as a result the difference in charging speed is quite small, but like it or not it's there and it's another negative that needs to be taken into account.

Bleeding on multiple fronts

iPhone Air is the phoneonem two faces, one of which is absolutely stunning and breathtaking, while the other you won't even understand, because it will seem almost stupidly stupid to you. The amazing face is of course the design that has been praised several times and the fact that it is simply technological porn in terms of processing. The negative for me personally, in addition to the uncomplicated camera and the battery life on the edge, are a few things that I don't understand or that "just" annoy me. I can't figure out why Apple It only has a flash, which cannot be adjusted by the user in terms of distance or width, as has been the case with iPhones in recent years. Instead, you only have the option to adjust the brightness intensity, which is of course sufficient for some basic lighting, but when you know that you can have something better at your disposal, the absence of this option simply annoys you.

I also feel quite negatively about the absence of a second speaker, which would have given the phone a full-fledged stereo experience. AirYou only have to make do with the speaker located on the top, and although its quality is very decent, when watching videos you can tell that the sound is lagging compared to iPhones with stereo speakers. The sound logically comes from only one place and therefore does not absorb you as well as you are probably used to. Of course, I understand that it was probably not possible to cram a second speaker into the thin body, but I wonder if those concessions due to thinness were actually not too much and whether a slight increase in thickness would not have helped Appto create a far more complex Air than the one we have now.

And I could go on with such oddities for a while. I also don't really care that the phone comes to you with the default settings with the other camera zooms turned off and you only have 1x and 2x zoom natively available. However, this is a purely software issue that improves the camera as such and allows you to do more interesting things with it right away. Of course, we are only talking about a software decision here, but I still wonder who on earth decided that.

iPhone Air 7

Summary

Even though the previous lines are for iPhone Air in many ways negative, my final assessment won't actually be that negative. That's because I still look at the phone through the lens of a tech enthusiast who just absolutely loves the design of this piece and to a certain extent appreciates the courage Appwith such a thin phoneonem, which is quite popular, can compete alongside the Pro models and the equally high-quality basic iPhones 17.

Just unconventional processing and overall very strong deflection AppThe fact that I'm stuck in a rut still makes me wonder if it would be a good idea to iPhonem Air It just didn't work out, even though I know that I personally would be annoyed by the battery life combined with the uncomplicated camera. AppIn short, they have managed to create something that can confuse you and bring you to a crossroads where every decision will hurt you, because neither direction will ultimately offer you what the other would offer you, and vice versa.

But to be objective, I don't really know who, apart from technology fanatics, I would recommend it to. iPhone Air recommended, because the group of users who will be "comfortable" with it, so to speak, will not be very large in my opinion (which is also reflected in the first sales forecasts). iPhone Air It is not for photography fans and it is also not for users who are active on their phone and need it to last them a whole day on a single charge. Air I think it's for lovers minimalistic design, who have a phone more as an accessory than something they need for a few hours a day to live. But (unfortunately) there probably won't be many of them in the world. But one thing is for sure. iPhone Air is a beautiful example of the fact that when Apple wants to, it can break away from its traditional hardware recycling style and launch something that can confuse even users who are absolutely not the target group. Because although I know that my pragmatism is not good for me,onec commands to return to iPhone 17 Pro, iPhone Air I will keep it in my head for as long as I had my first love in elementary school years ago because of its uniqueness.
