Along with the launch of the new Pixel 10 phones, Google introduced a groundbreaking feature in the app Google photosNow, users can edit photos by simply speaking or texting, and AI will automatically make the desired adjustments – without having to select tools or move sliders.
According to Google, the AI can respond to both simple and complex commands. For example, it can:
- restore an old photo,
- remove cars in the background,
- enhance colors and remove glare,
- add clouds to the sky,
- or simply "help the photo look better."
Other options include fun customizations like adding a party hat, sunglasses, or changing the background. The AI also supports multiple requests in a single task and understands follow-up instructions, so you can have a conversation with the app like you would with a human.
Accessibility and clarity of adjustments
The feature will initially be available on phonesonech Pixel 10, but it is expected to be extended to other devices. Along with this, Google is also introducing so-called C2PA Content Credentials, a visible record of how a photo was captured and edited.
