Usually you have to choose between two worlds, where you either choose an elegant thin case that looks good, but won't save you much in crisis situations, or on the contrary, you reach for a robust "monster", which will protect your phone perfectly, but makes the phone itself significantly larger and less attractive. Does it sound ideal? On paper, sure. But how did it fare in practice? I tested it on an iPhone 15 Pro and here are the results.

Let's start from the beginning. FIXED MagVelar is different from most classic covers at first glance, not only due to the materials used, but also due to its shape, structure and overall impression. The manufacturer has opted for aramid fibers, which is the same material used in aviation or bulletproof vests. So this is not a marketing gimmick, but a really extremely strong and lightweight material that can really withstand a lot.
Having tested a few aramid covers in the past, I kind of knew what I was getting into. However, it is worth mentioning that if you are new to this type of cover, you might be surprised by how solid the cover feels – it is almost impossible to bend, it doesn’t sag anywhere, and even under heavy pressure it holds its shape like a piece of composite sheet. On the one hand, that is great, but there is one but.

Because the cover is so hard, it is a bit more difficult to put on the phone than softer silicone or TPU cases. variant. The actual “snap-on” process takes a bit of practice and patience. You have to start with one side, then carefully push and “snap” the rest. I personally don’t have a problem with it, but if you’re used to changing covers depending on your mood or occasion, the MagVelar might not be the ideal choice for you, as removing it is not exactly a simple matter. On the other hand, once you put it on, it stays put and there is no creaking, shifting or play.
In addition to its truly beautiful appearance, one of the main weapons of this cover is its extremely low thickness, which is only 1,2 mm. You can hardly feel the cover on your phone, which is a big plus for the Pro series iPhones with a titanium body. The phone will maintain its low weight and thinness, without having to worry about picking it up from the ground for parts after the first fall. And because the cover is really very thin, you don't even visually feel that it is expanding the frame around the display, which is the case with the original Apple I honestly have covers.
The FIXED MagVelar surface is pleasantly matte and slightly textured, so it doesn't slip in your hand even after prolonged use. What I definitely appreciate is that the cover is completely fingerprint-free and even after a week it looks the same as the day I took it out of the box. Sure, it does get smudged from time to time, but I think aramid as such has extraordinary self-cleaning properties, thanks to which most of the blemishes quickly disappear simply by using the phone. If you're a stickler for details, it's worth adding that the cutouts around the ports, buttons and speakers are maxThey are perfectly accurate and fit perfectly with what they are intended for.
Testing and use
In normal everyday use, the MagVelar has proven to be absolutely great. I used it for about ten days in the classic way, in a pocket, in a backpack, on a table, in holders and during sports, and I must say that getting used to it was absolutely lightning fast. Although it is extremely thin, it feels very secure and you can rest assured that it is completely invisible on your iPhone, even though it is so thin that you don't even notice it.
The phone feels better with it and I subjectively felt much more secure in my hand than with a classic silicone case.onem. The cover also protects the protruding camera modules very well thanks to the metal ring around it, which is slightly raised and thus prevents the lenses from coming into direct contact with the table or other surface. Moreover, the phone almost does not wobble when placed on a hard surface, which is a detail that personally pleased me more than I expected.
The big topic is of course MagSafe support, and I have to say something here. Although the cover is extremely thin, the magnets are integrated precisely and, what's more, they are very strong. I will return to the precise cutouts for the buttons mentioned above in a few words, as this detail is especially important for covers for iPhone 16 Pro and 16 Pro Max (there is also a version for 15 Pro) very important. This is because thanks to miniThanks to the thinness of the cover, you have perfect access to the side button for controlling the camera. Why do I emphasize this? Especially because until now, practically all covers from accessory manufacturers did not suit me at all in this regard, as they hid this button in a "recess" created by the thickness of the side of the cover. This suddenly made the button harder to use overall. Fortunately, this is not the case with the FIXED MagVelar, because thanks to its extraordinary thinness, when using the side button for controlling the camera, you almost feel as if you have a "bare" phone in your hand. That's how great access to the button is.

At the end of my testing, I have a pleasant observation for you from life. Because the cover is completely solid and has no rubber elements, it does not stick to the fabrics in your pocket, and the phone can be easily pulled out and put in. On the other hand, due to the hard material, do not expect any great "absorption" of shocks. When falling from a height, the cover will protect primarily against scratchesancand normal mechanical wear and tear. However, if you want a truly shockproof case, you will need to look elsewhere. However, it should be added that falls are quite a matter of luck and if your phone falls badly, even the best case will not help you in the end.

It certainly does not promise the impossible, but what it offers, it delivers excellently.
